Proceed to fight Leshen until you reach the final area.
Pukei-Pukei turns up and joins you as a "Tailraider" type ally.
Pukei-Pukei either dies or remains alive while you battle and defeat the Leshen.
If he's alive, he'll fly off afterwards and you get a bonus cutscene + reward.
That's all there is to it. Use lifepowder to ensure success.
don't miss to fight the gajalaka boss first which is the other sidequest
gather flashbugs, blue mushrooms and godbug to be prepared for the last stage of leshen when pukei pukei joins the battle, flash the jagras so they can't dmg to pukei
heal pukei with lifepowder craftet from bm and gb
break horns of leshen to reduce its ability to call jagras
What is all of this madness?! I wondered why the poor beastie died so fast and those damn jagras were just annoying the hell out of it. Time to flash them and show this side quest who's boss.
weapon depends on u was using long sword for my fight
Sword and shield is ideal. It does decent damage and you can quickly use items.
Pick up Blue Mushrooms and Godbugs so you can craft more Life powder if the last fight is a bit of struggle with Pukie Pukie.
Leave only 1 Jagras alive. Leshen won't summon anymore after that and 1 of them does so little damage against Pukie that is isn't much of a problem.
Use 3 Life powders when his health is around 50% or so.
Use igni whenever it's up, use flashes and any slinger pods that leshen drops. Try to get mounts on leshen.
Are you trolling me with mounts on Leshen? I tried once or twice with no luck and assumed it wasn't possible. It's so small and humanoid(ish) that after my attempts I just wrote it off.
Only the area where Pukei-Pukei normally sleeps / hangs out in other quests is difficult to land reliable jump attacks at, since it relies on decent positioning of the Leshen more than the environment just being set up for it, despite the hill and fungi wall.
But yes, mounting it is great. Practically required if you want to break its head twice!
it is sad that sns is the only one and i hate using it against leshen because the stupid jump attacks nearly always miss the target because it is so small...
