Kill Jagras, then Leshen. Save Para knives and mount for the last area. Flash and Igni are more than enough to deal with 3 Jagras.

You can heal the jagras with lifepowder and the Vitalities. When leshen calls for jagras, focus them. You can one shot them with igni sign. Try and lead leshen away from pukei.

You can have 6 life powders as well to heal it if you take the 3 EZ life powders thats in the camp chests

My question is: is it even worth saving him? I mean, what is the reward?
I've tried like three or four times, and it made me furious(and I'm not even exaggerating), because every time he dies.

an attack jewel is the reward. Also its pretty easy imo. Did using his silver sword even which is the 1st time i've ever tried using a sword and shield XD (my main is Insect Glaive). Just use the life powders when needed and make sure each of your igni counts either to kill the jagras he calls or to kill the Leshen asap.

One Attack Jewel. Keeping the Pukie-Pukie alive is also required to get the full ending cutscene and the "Wild Hunt" guild card title.

Make sure to always kill jagras as soon as possible, they're the biggest danger to the pukei. Either just igni them or flash them and kill them the normal way if igni is on cooldown. If you somehow run out of lifepowders you can use vitalilies.
Save the paralysing knives for the last engagement to speed things up even more.

Using Lifepowder heals it for 500, you start with 3 and you should acquire the materials to make more as you complete the quests - Blue Mushroom and Godbugs, I believe. He spends most of his time fighting the Jagras, which you can quickly kill using an Igni blast, so taking those out will help increase his lifespan although I don't recommend completely killing them all, since he'll begin to attack the Leshen, which does some pretty significant damage if poor Pukei-Pukei gets caught in his attacks. Remember you can also flash the Jagras which will leave them looking around blindly for quite a while, too.

Basically, acquire 10 Godbugs and Blue Mushrooms and bring 3 Lifepowder into the fight with you, and you'll all but ensure Pukei-Pukei's survival.

It goes without saying, but robusting the Leshen before you get to this point by mounting him constantly and using the Igni blast to prevent him from teleporting between zones so you can get as much damage on him as possible, thus shortening the final fight considerably, is extremely helpful too.

As an additional tip, consider grabbing some adamant seeds, honey and bitterbugs and mixing up an Armourskin potion. If you get super lucky, you can get some might seeds from a gastronome tuna and mix up a Demondrug too, but don't count on that one, lol.

You can do it!

Saving him completes the Pukei-Pukei in Peril sidequest, which awards you with an Attack Jewel on your first completion, and a random Worn / Warped Feystone on successive completions if you replay the quest. It also part of 100% completion of the assignment.

Kill all the Jagras except one. Leave one alive and Leshen won't summon more. All Jagras won't attack you at once anyway. The majority will focus on you while you deal with the Leshen, and a few will go for Puke. Leave one or two max on Puke and get rid of the ones around you while you deal with the Leshen. Kill the Leshen as soon as you can.

Don't go back and forth between Leshen and protecting Puke. Wait for Puke to go below half and heal it with 3 Lifepowder. Then go fight Leshen. When it's low again, use the other three you get from the camp to heal the Puke. You don't need to care if you exceed your max health. Healing the Puke is the priority if you're trying to heal him. Going back and forth and waiting until both your health and Puke's is down before healing make everything hectic and will get you both killed. You can heal yourself anytime, but you can only heal Puke when you're close, so when you heal Puke, ignore your health limit.

If you want a weapon that can kill the Jagras fast, try Dual Blades. When you do Demon Dance at the Leshen, the attacks create a safe zone around you so any Jagras that gets near die. You can fight Leshen without worrying, while the Jagras will kill themselves trying to get you. It's very easy. You can dance a full combo plus two hits after you hit Leshen with Igni. There are several more openings you can dance at it, and you can complete the quest within 35 mins.

Thanks guys, I will try again. The problem with my last two attempts was that the Leshen went deep into the forest for the last round, so it was harder to deal with it and protecting Pukei at the same time, since not so much space to maneuver there. I used all my healing powder on Pukei, but he still died, I might try the "one Jagras" approach though, seems like it might work.

What i did was luring leshen inside the cave along with Pukei and 1 jagras , flash them then running out of cave , leshen teleport out while the Pukei go play with Jagras , at least it doesn't drop HP too fast .
Dark3nedDragon May 10, 2019 @ 12:13am
Pukei is pretty...suicidal, so don't be surprised if they spend most of the fight (after Jagras are dead), doing their best to die by the Leshen's AoE Damage Aura
Uugly May 10, 2019 @ 12:20am
Longsword make this more easy. The long and wide reach make it easier to kill the Jagras.
Cheungy May 10, 2019 @ 12:21am
Stun leshen with fire and melee jagras or vice versa.

Then go ham on leshen, pukei didn't need heal once for me. He had half hp tho
