Can't drink antidote potions
While my friend was fighting an Odogron, she was unable to drink an antidote potion and the poison killed her. Is there any way that she can fix this bug?

You cant drink antidote unless you are poisoned; Were you effected by poison or by bleed? Bleed is cured by crouching for like 5 seconds, or eating Astera Jerky

Sounds more like she got ticked down by effluvia or Bleeding from Clifford.

No, she was poisoned yet it didn't let her consume an antidote potion at all.

Poison cup in area 6.

XD no, she's in a low rank mission to slay the Odogoron.

Deleted my response because I guess the Gagalaka could also do it.

You cannot be poisoned by Odogaron.
I suspect they may have been affected by 'Effluvia' which is a natural damage over time to the player, only unique to the Rotten Vale.

Skills like Effluvia Expert or Effluvia Resistance will prevent the local damage over time.

I think she may have touched a Poison Cup. She just said the purple was bleeding? Is that normal?

Sounds normal. Well that's not a hard issue to reproduce, hit up the vale in expedition, smack a poisoncup, then see if the antidote works. Make sure that the hp bar has turned purple before using an antidote and keep in mind that the effluvia in the area will do tick dmg unless negated by a torchpod or effluvial expert skill.

Tell her to ditch the antidotes and use Herbal Medicine. Much faster and a small heal comes with it, too.

Also, I'd assume, barring a bizarre bug, that she was bleeding. Crouch without moving for ~5 seconds to remove it, or eat an Astera Jerky.

To avoid any confusion, you're not really eating the Astera Jerky. You're just kinda rubbing it in the wound... Right? That's how I've been doing it.

Of course! The bleeding is inside you, so you grind it up with your teeth, like a mortar and pestle, send it down your throat, and it rubs you on the inside. Totally not eating!

She gave up on the mission XD but I think the color of the health bar was throwing her off. I'll let her know once she is back.

If it's purple, she was likely poisoned. If the entire bar is red, then she's bleeding. If it's a sickly green, then her health was halved by the effluvia gas in the area, and requires a nulberry.

She said it was purple but she had the bleeding effect on. By any chance is there a colorblind mode within the game?
