How is telling someone to fire a SOS flare going to benefit them in the long run? Sure they'll be able to take down this monster with someone running over Anjanath but then they won't benefit from learning the fight/monster. It is a gear check and a skill check. Anjanath is mostly fire based so having gear that reduces fire and also paying attention to the moves to reduce hits helps.
This is like telling someone to not stand in fire but they'll probably just stand in fire anyway until they learn not to. Not to offend the OP or anyone else that has a hard time with this fight or any other but paying attention and not blindly flailing away as well as having the right gear is needed. Help only gets you so far just like in Souls games. What happens if no one comes to help?
You need to properly dodge the incoming attacks as fast as possible, and not get hit by *most* attacks. I think you have (at least 1) mantle unlocked, use the Vitality (if you have it), Ghillie otherwise, and make some traps.
Shock traps are made by Thunderbugs and Trap Tools (you purchase these in the Trade Hub from a guy on a pile of supplies)
Pitfall traps are made by Net and Trap Tools (ivy and spiderweb to make net; use capture net in item bar to grab spider + spiderweb when you see one, ivy is a thing you can grab)
Do not spam the same kind of trap (it will degrade in effectiveness), use it to beat up the Anjanath, so best bet is to deal damage, then when the monster's throat goes red, pop on a ghillie mantle, sharpen your weapons, heal up, and then use a pitfall trap, remove ghillie, anjanath runs at you, falls into pit, then focus all of your attacks on its face (which will be barely accessible while in a pitfall, but still doable), face and neck. This will knock him over (if you do enough damage), and remove the fire-breath attacks for a bit.
It will destroy new hunters, teaching them the mindset of the game.
Learn his pattern well, dodge and attack appropriately.
this is your first mission of struggle to teach you more about how to play. you should beat this solo. More struggles await you.
if not, fire sos flare and pray someone comes to low rank to help u, many are farming the event missions and ATKT atm
edit: try changing weapons. it doesn't cost much to build others if your current weapon isn't working. a longer weapon or ranged weapon will make hitting him easier.
Depending on the size of the anjanath, dual blades might have trouble hitting its tail and head. Other weapons have better verticality, which is why some people suggested other weapons. But if you stand right under the anjanath's arms you can hit its belly, and even its head if it's a small one. On a big anja, your best bet is to go ham on the legs. They're not weak spots initially, but they can be broken and then become weak spots. Breaking a leg also knocks the anja down giving you an opportunity to deal damage to the head or cut the tail. When going after the legs, it's best to position yourself to the anjanath's side.
Using traps was also a very good tip. Shock traps and pitfall traps can both give you an opportunity for free attacks, or they can be used together with tranq bombs to capture the monster when it's weakened. Shooting a flash pod in front of its face can also daze it for a few times, again giving you better chances to attack. Also, don't forget to eat at the canteen. Getting more hp and/or food buffs is a very important part of preparation.
finding online sesions i dont see a lot of them, only 1 or 2 pages and there are 1-5 players in them. Does it be like this or i have internet problems with blocked IP or so?
Remember the first time you tried to get a Shrike? Anjanath is basically a cross between a Drask with a Shrike's occasional swoop thrown in. i.e. if you're not going to boop, you're gonna have to roll it. Think of a h/h ratio of at least 10 to 1. Just nibble him to death. Plus all the dodges have i-frames in MHW, no chainblade bumping here ^_^. Watch your stamina.
Try to get a partner(s). Just like in D, having someone take its attention really helps a lot. The scaling usually jumps from solo straight to 4 player, i.e. try to get either 3 other players or solo it. It doesn't scale 66% per additional member.
Craft the consumables. Unlike D, you can craft as much as you can hold and you can always go back to camp to restock / regear. Aside from the number of KOs, there is usually a time limit [expeditions here have no time limit but they don't count towards your quest].
Mobs here also have elemental weaknesses, critical hit boxes [aim for the head (stagger), tail for strikes / range but limbs won't matter unless you need parts] and MHW has many more status effects you can dump on the mobs. If you don't mind a bit of prep, try the bowguns / bows.
People also don't look for LR SoS.
There is no point in doing them as HR Hunter
so at wich HR i will be promoted to hight rank?
It's story locked. High rank begins at HR 11.
