Chances are that the game is going to be using quite a lot of that CPU, being only a quad and not OC'd, but you may have other processes that are using some CPU as well and you can probably close those.
It's weird, it just went crazy at one point w/o reason. There wasn't even a patch or anything.
I even used to showcase the game to my friend via Skype share, and while it wouldn't be ideal I could still finish the hunt w/o much problems. W/o screenshare ofc, it worked smooth.
otherwise, was there a windows update (or other updates) before the problem occured? might be an issue with that, as i recently had an faulty update install wich forced me to roll back my system. it also caused CPU usage to spike to 100%, altough at random interwalls outside of everything.
or maybe faulty hardware? like a defect RAM?
As for the mod, I haven't tired it... I might. I mean it's just silly. It worked one day and then it didn't the next one, w/o any reason. Not really how PCs work. You usually need to screw something up, or something has to actually happen.
Oh well... maybe it will fix itself tomorrow...
I can't stress this enough. WINDOWS 7 CAUSES STUTTERING IN MH: WORLD.
Google it really quick and check your driver version.
thats the thing, something changed or you wouldnt have the issues. It just a matter of not being aware of the change.
As an example: It took a friend of mine like 2 month before he noticed that his RAM is faulty. How did it show? Only Ark: survival evolved had huge issues while playing with massive FPS drops and stuff while all other games of his worked just fine. RAM swapped and ARK was playable again.
Or better yet: My faulty windows-update that wrecked windows itself. Yes, my OS froze on me couple of times and even asked if i want to kill the windows process itself.
PC´s are way to complex to truly understand what is going on. Maybe your CPU is on death door or something? I wish you best luck in finding the issue.
Second thing, I did mentioned how things sometimes fix themselves and what do you know. I just lunched MH today and its back to normal. CPU usage is at 90% and it works just like it did.
Yesterday I did mess with my processes since I noticed that even idle, my CPU isn't downclocking it self like it normally does, and the usage is all over the place. Now as to what caused it, I have no idea. I disabled pretty much everything except essentials and it was the same.
My friend always had 1 solution to his PC problems and that was to turn it on and off xD.
Sometimes Voodoo magic as i used to call it works. Now how long will this last, who knows.
All in all, thanks all. Happy hunting, while it lasts. :)
