Dude, you get so much new content. Why are there so many people bagging for free new content. Those guys worked hard for Iceborn. You get easily 200-400 hours. Just pay the price for this masterpiece or play something else.
Some ppl cant afford it. I alrdy made a discussion bout this and a 29USD item can cost quite pricely in another country

Was any game/dlc ever reduce price after release?

I mean.. paying the same price for just an expansion is ridicilous.

It isn't anything new to the series, though. Monster Hunter games always come out with an "ultimate" edition a year or so after initial release adding a G-Rank and new endgame, which is exactly what Iceborne is doing. Utlimately, it's up to you to decide if it's worth the price right now, but I'd say if you enjoyed base game MHW, chances are it's worth it. If you really aren't comfortable paying full price, just wait half a year or so and chances are it'll go on sale at some point.

No. It will never, ever drop in price after it's released.
It's like a whole new game so um no... not for a very very long time if it does.

$40 for an expansion that nearly equal to base game in contents size that cost $60 is pretty cheap
Though if that size doesn't satisfied you, you can always wait for sales half a year later
Also Iceborne = G-rank/Ultimate version of previous games, which cost $60 for base game, and another $60 (like MHWIB master edition) separately when it get released as another game

so an expansion with the content equivalent to making MHW2, is not worth a full game price. because people have this deluded sense that because steam doesnt have a "in-game sequal" section on a store page, labeling it as DLC instantly makes it less than the base game its for?

brilliant.

You're not paying same price.

You're paying 40 if owning MHW and 60 if not owning MHW... -.-
day 1 that ♥♥♥♥ isn't going to work lmao. this is a half-baked port, no reason to think Icebird won't ♥♥♥♥ it up even more.

Nah according to some trustworthy sources the expansion will actually become more expensive every week. Theyre doing it to tax those arrogant lowlifes who dont buy the expansion day 1.

i mean, Ark basically did this. run a early access campaign, charge for DLC maps during development, increase base game price after leaving early access and game is still buggy and broken and hacked like no tomorrow for cheaters in PvP worlds. oh and make a console port that somehow runs WORSE.

Cheapest I found was $38 CAD for the base expansion.
