LET ME SKIP CUTSCENES
My friends are getting so turned off by this game because of the contrast of awesome action and super lame characters and cut scenes in a non story driven game.

They are unnecessarily long, detract from the experience, and they do not add anything of value or relevance at all to the game.

I've had far too many friends buy this game on sale, comment on how beautiful it was, and never progress past 10 hours of gameplay.

The monster introductions and kill/capture ones are totally fine because they have always been a part of the series...but 10 years ago when I was playing MH Freedom...I never remember feeling frustrated that I was forced to watch literal HOURS of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t

I would honestly rather stare at a loading screen than have to watch the cut scenes ever again.

They are preventing a pretty decent chunk of players from enjoying this game.

Please update your game and allow us to skip the cut scenes.
They are worthless and they should not be forced on us.

I tried streaming a new game where I did bow only gameplay....but then I was greeted with an hour of Non-gameplay and unskippable cutscenes before I said "NOPE" and quit the game.

These un-skippable cut scenes are literally stopping me from enjoying a 2nd play through of the main quest line.

Is that your intent? Because that is what you are doing.

The players will look up and shout "Save us!"

And Capcom will whisper "No.."

Is there a mod for that?

Edit: I looked and couldn't find one besides the one that skips the intro.
Edit 2: Be sure to contact Capcom support because the devs don't listen to these forums. You can expect a very cut & paste reply but that's the only real to get them to listen.

i mean its pretty much set in stone, they alreayd said iceborne cutscenes for the story wont be skippable. that'd just be a support message wasting their time.

A word of warning, Poisenbery: For some reason, a select few people here practically worship the ground the devs walk on, and will gladly trash talk you for daring to complain.
Even stating that a paying customer has NO right to complain about any product.

Thankfully, most of the rest that are fine with the unskippable cutscenes are pretty much normal and nice about it.

Also, ignore that one guy.
Go ahead and send the message.
They likely won't change anything...but at least they'll know that people do object to the forced handholding.
------

Just like in the Mega Man Battle Network series.
Seriously, Lan, I know how the blasted card game/combat system works. I've played the games like a million times. Quit slowing me down and let me play the stinking game!
------

(Ah well, there was one funny part to the forced tutorial.
Since I was playing as a female hunter, thanks to the camera being locked during the long, long, slow death march through the HQ and up the stairs... at least I got a good view of the female hunter and the handler from behind. As I said:
Me: "I hate forced tutorials! Let me play!"
*notices camera's position*
Me: " *snickers* But at least the view is really nice." *laughs*

lol yes worship. as soon as you said that i stopped reading.

you wanna know what i worship? logic and reason.

the devs have already made a statement on the nature of cutscenes

to them there is no reason to change this.

logically demanding and barking for that to change is going to go nowhere.

no fanboyism about it, just realism. im not saying im happy with it either. but seriously, we dont need more threads about this. its a waste of effort and honestly, if you think its so dumb and easy to change, then make a mod that does this.

I'm just gonna break word of god here and voice that cutscenes should be skippable anyway, as they're skippable in certain instances like KT or AL as well as the gallery playback.

In the recent gameinformer questions video they did indeed state that cutscenes won't be skippable and that you have to tediously leave quest and come back to do the story with your friends, and they seem to also understand that not everyone wants to sit through them when the interviewer said "C'mon guys..." in response.

Their official stance is basically "We worked hard on them, please enjoy them", but should the feedback be weighty enough I can see them hotfixing skips in later seeing as though a lot of complaints with the current game went through and have been properly addressed.

The MH team is not infallible, what they think may be a good design choice might not pan out in reality. I think people should be free to reasonably voice their gripes.

Bzzzt wrong.
“We worked on them very hard, so please, please enjoy them” is not logical it's purely emotional. It's especially not logical because this was their statement towards watching cutscenes with friend instead of having each player watch the cutscene on their own, quit the mission, join the host's mission, etc. Literally just bogs down the game, it's no wonder solo is better than multi.

I remember that. It was one of the most dumbfounding things I never expected to see on this forum.

I feel like there would be zero downsides to being able to skip cutscenes. Especially if you have seen them before.

You only ever see the same cutscene once unless your game crashes midway or you make a new character.

That being said, I do enjoy cutscenes though having the option to skip or fast forward should be available as games with many cutscenes like KH3 give you the option to skip.
Endarion Jul 19, 2019 @ 5:30am
"literaly HOURS"

longest unskippable thing is the credit roll and that's like less than 20 min LOL

what an exageration
Trevor Fox Jul 19, 2019 @ 5:50am
I do not completely agree with the reasoning, but I do agree that cutscenes should be skippable. Some people have played the game before, and others don't care. Forcing them to watch won't make them care any more. Would certainly be nice to have the option.
Cyseal Jul 19, 2019 @ 6:51am
The devs said that they don't allow us to skip cutscenes because they worked on them and want people to see them.

And that's reasonable. If you don't have time to watch them, you don't have time to play the game. They take a really short time to watch, they're pretty nicely made and add a layer to the experience.

Only thing I would change is the option to start a main quest with a friend and you both watch the scene at the same time, no need to start the mission again with a friend or no need to send a SOS flare so you can enjoy the content.

Other than that, it's great.

The cutscene ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is a legitimate issue for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the flow of multiplayer, and Capcom have said they won't address it in Iceborne either.
