And Capcom will whisper "No.."
Edit: I looked and couldn't find one besides the one that skips the intro.
Edit 2: Be sure to contact Capcom support because the devs don't listen to these forums. You can expect a very cut & paste reply but that's the only real to get them to listen.
Even stating that a paying customer has NO right to complain about any product.
Thankfully, most of the rest that are fine with the unskippable cutscenes are pretty much normal and nice about it.
Also, ignore that one guy.
Go ahead and send the message.
They likely won't change anything...but at least they'll know that people do object to the forced handholding.
------
Just like in the Mega Man Battle Network series.
Seriously, Lan, I know how the blasted card game/combat system works. I've played the games like a million times. Quit slowing me down and let me play the stinking game!
------
(Ah well, there was one funny part to the forced tutorial.
Since I was playing as a female hunter, thanks to the camera being locked during the long, long, slow death march through the HQ and up the stairs... at least I got a good view of the female hunter and the handler from behind. As I said:
Me: "I hate forced tutorials! Let me play!"
*notices camera's position*
Me: " *snickers* But at least the view is really nice." *laughs*
you wanna know what i worship? logic and reason.
the devs have already made a statement on the nature of cutscenes
to them there is no reason to change this.
logically demanding and barking for that to change is going to go nowhere.
no fanboyism about it, just realism. im not saying im happy with it either. but seriously, we dont need more threads about this. its a waste of effort and honestly, if you think its so dumb and easy to change, then make a mod that does this.
In the recent gameinformer questions video they did indeed state that cutscenes won't be skippable and that you have to tediously leave quest and come back to do the story with your friends, and they seem to also understand that not everyone wants to sit through them when the interviewer said "C'mon guys..." in response.
Their official stance is basically "We worked hard on them, please enjoy them", but should the feedback be weighty enough I can see them hotfixing skips in later seeing as though a lot of complaints with the current game went through and have been properly addressed.
The MH team is not infallible, what they think may be a good design choice might not pan out in reality. I think people should be free to reasonably voice their gripes.
“We worked on them very hard, so please, please enjoy them” is not logical it's purely emotional. It's especially not logical because this was their statement towards watching cutscenes with friend instead of having each player watch the cutscene on their own, quit the mission, join the host's mission, etc. Literally just bogs down the game, it's no wonder solo is better than multi.
I remember that. It was one of the most dumbfounding things I never expected to see on this forum.
That being said, I do enjoy cutscenes though having the option to skip or fast forward should be available as games with many cutscenes like KH3 give you the option to skip.
longest unskippable thing is the credit roll and that's like less than 20 min LOL
what an exageration
And that's reasonable. If you don't have time to watch them, you don't have time to play the game. They take a really short time to watch, they're pretty nicely made and add a layer to the experience.
Only thing I would change is the option to start a main quest with a friend and you both watch the scene at the same time, no need to start the mission again with a friend or no need to send a SOS flare so you can enjoy the content.
Other than that, it's great.
