Scholar Skill Bugged

So I just discovered that the Scholar skill is bugged.

I was working on the achievement "Monster Ph.D.", and in order to help speed up scoutfly research (the only thing I had left to do) I equipped the Hunter Helmet Alpha.

I didn't notice a difference, unless I pressed "return from expedition" in the menu, then I got a massive boost to my research.

I did some testing and sure enough, if you fast travel to town via the map Scholar will not activate, and if you press the "return from expedition/quest" button it does activate.

yeah its not really a bug more of a poorly designed mechanic. its not the skill itself thats bugged but how the various ways to return from expeditions and quests is handled.
