for one thing, it's not meant to be done solo. in a party it should be fine. for another, there are several MMO-style raid mechanics to it, so if you and your party don't know what you're doing, it could be really hard
Nope Jul 17, 2019 @ 2:29am
Yes and No
No: When your team have a tank that take agro and a support it will be easy
Yes: when you fight extremoth + can't pass damage check in third area

No, every move is telegraphed and has consistent (albeit wonky) hitboxes.
Jump works 99% of the time because the window is pretty forgiving.
You can just skip the MMO mechanics by playing smart.

EX Behemoth is also not difficult if you're doing the classic nobrain strat of one HBG blocking afk and one dedicated healbot, while two Clusters afk behind EX Behemoth.
People can't beat EX without this cheese and probably have never been hit by his slam if they were doing afk Cluster/Healbot duty.

Nergi doesn't have Charybdis, command grabs, or a DPS check that wipes the entire group if you fail it >_>

But "hard" isn't the right word - it's more like "over-loaded"

He's not so much difficult as he is different. Behemoth requires that you take him on as you would an MMO type boss in that you each player class can make a big difference. You want to have a tank, a healer, and two DPS heavy hitters for a well rounded team.

One of the biggest issue people have with behemoth is that he has an unblockable instant death one hit kill that covers the ENTIRE map. It has only two defences, one, you master the jump technique and timing. Two, you kite him away and protect the meteors that land and hide behind them.

If you die and don't think you can get back to camp before he does his map wipe, stay in the camp and use the tent and hope you miss it.

iv got my support skills down now i can heal fast and with full capacity with free meal activated, i can buff and get mounts fairly consistently but nobody lets me join their behemoth raid about 70% of the time because im hr 60 i guess they dont want a healer or maybe they just "underestimate my power"

Easiest way to get into a run would be to make a session, set it to behemoth hunts, and then make a post on steam or one of the discord servers that you're actively hunting behemoth and post the session ID.

If you're getting quick mounts, don't forget the mount cheese (assuming it still works) where you mount him and just ride him for as long as possible while everyone else does as much damage as possible.

Ecliptic Meteor is not mapwide, on regular it covers 1-2 areas and on EX it only covers the area he's in and a bit. You can outrun Ecliptic just fine.

yeah got to love the cheese tactic i usually stay on for 2 cycles where i could floor him but instead i just hit him 2x in the head and then let him go back to thrashing around and when my stam low i try to get him fully down but sometimes he throws me off even if i have stam left if i stay on for too long haha

but yea like atm im not actively hunting him right now cos i pretty much got the parts i want off him but i usually try join sos calls because he is quite a fun fight with a good team, good sense of satisfaction if we win, if i ever decide i want more drachen which i probably will eventually ill definitely do your method, its a good idea tbf

Was that changed in a patch? I clearly remember myself, and others dying in basecamp, and/or running back to the fight due to bad luck/timing. I guess the camps could have been just within that 2 area range, but I was pretty sure it was originally map wide.

only Extremoth is...

Like anything you usually have to rely on randoms for, which also has "decent" gear locked behind it which encourages a healthy supply of unprepared and hungry newbies to saturate any teams with, it's "hard" for that.

The biggest flaw is the fact - just like in Final Fantasy - you can suffer a squad wipe wiping away all of your hard work in the blink of an eye just from a single mistake. Everything else about Behemoth is interesting and well designed, although the Extremoth has some incredibly cruel moves that can feel cheap, I guess.

But basically it's not hard, very simple mechanics, but the fact you have to rely on randoms (most of the time, not everyone has an A-Team to play with) and the fact he can undo all your hard work right at the end, just like the Ancient Leshen, adds a quality of "difficulty" all of its own.

Learning to solo him (or using the singleplayer mod) is about the best you can hope for if you want a straightforward and "fun" Monster Hunter fight, although...that kinda defeats the purpose of the collab and mission in general.

Depends on how you approach it.

Difficult
- You haven't fought it before and go at it like it was a regular fight.
- You haven't learned how to avoid the tail swipe.
- You don't understand the meteor mechanic.

Easy
- If you're using cheap strats like a Cluster group.
- If you don't mention how long or how many videos you needed to watch to solo it.
- If you're a troll or a liar.
