How do you understand the meaning of each monsters name?

No sarcasm ,but this has been bothering me for a while.
days earlier i was joking with some guy from US.and i ask him if he knew what 'Anjanath' means,he said he had no clue of what it is and has never seen it in his life ,the name is most likely originated from Latin or Greek .
apparently as qualified hunters we surely know what it is , it looks like T-rex, and we know it spits fires.
so what if you have never played this game before ,when you come to names like Bazelgeuse or Dodogama , what's the first thing that comes to your mind? or words like these are just like some proper nouns in physics that requires you to read papers long enough just to figure out what it stands for.
well , on the other hand,monster titles written in japanese kanji seems easier to understand.for example Jyuratodus - mud fish dragon or Paolumu - dragon flow in the air ,etc...
would be really appreciate if you could share your ideas in this thread , thanks

I guess localization butchered some of the hidden meanings, something like Raizex (Astalos) meaning "thunder insect" or Ostgaroa (Nakarkos), Ost(eon) meaning bone and garoa refers to Tangaroa, a god of the sea, dead and squids.
But then something like Mizutsune, mizu being "water" combined with Kitsune, it's not too bad.

My favorite Japanese monster name is Hororohoruru which got localized to Malfestio, which isn't too bad either. But I like to think that his JP name is some sort of onomatopoeia of an Owl, which is really funny.

I don't try and find some sort of meaning from the name by itself.
For me, the name is the monster. So Pukei Pukei evokes an image of Pukei Pukei. The meaning is the monster + name, the name without the monster is meaningless to me.

Deviljho- lit; 'evil Joe' in Jp Romanji
Dodogama- dodoo- (Jp sfx symbol for explosion sound) + gama (toad) + maru (circle), lit. Round toad who explodes.
Rathalos- wrath + talon 'wrathful talon'
Jyuratodus- Jyura's tooth; possibly a corruption of the word duratodus, lit' 'hard tooth'
Odogaron- Oda (Nobunaga) + Dragon 'Oda's Dragon' possible from japanese odo-odo (to feel uneasy in Japanese)

Nergigante - Nergal (god of war) + gigante (giant)
Zora Magdaros- Zora (slavic word for dawn) + Magdaros- magma + darake (to be covered in)
Xenojiva- xeno (outsider) + jiva (life force)
Vaal Hazak- valhala + hazard
Teostra- Tecuciztecatl, moon god who immolated himself
Lunastra- Same, but with Luna (moon) instead of Teo
Kirin- actual existing mythological monster with antlers and a hooves.
