Just me or are hidden elements stupid?
Like why even force us to equip items just to use it?

Just you. The better hidden element weapons are either the best elementless weapons or have really high element after unlocking.

Also important to note that just having 1 Free Element on a weapon with Parra or Sleep is almost as good as having 3X. If you can get 3X, great, but it's not a ruined build if you can only get 1X. As Phenex stated the hidden stats tend to be on the high end.
