the trick is to focus on breaking things as much as possible, then when she sheds, be sure to break the tail atleast once, and then go for the horns in any way possible. since your solo, something ranged like an ice bow or with good reach that has ice element would be a good choice for her last room. from there its focus all damage on the horns.
Also pack 2 mega bombs and full stacks of the following: Large barrel, large barrel bomb, devil's blight, and gunpowder.
Make shortcuts on your radial wheel to make large barrel bombs and mega barrel bombs, thunder ammo and ice ammo.
For her mantle phase and sleep bombing her head I would strongly recommend doing AT Zorah in order to make the waist piece (it's pretty easy), then use something like Rath Soul Beta helm, Rath Soul Beta chest, Drachen arms or anything that has good slots and bowgun damage boosts, and Kirin Beta legs. Part breaker 3 is mandatory, so deco, charm or otherwise gear for it where you can (Uragaan chest has 2), and you should go with lightning damage up x3 and vitality boost 3 as you're unlikely to survive her attacks without it.
Weakness Exploit is useless against KT with the exception of slicing ammo on her horns, which is less ideal than using Blaze and ice ammo, so I would recommend just doing maximum might and affinity up wherever possible.
For her final phase after you sleep bomb her with Styx I would then swap to a build with Blaze. IIRC part breaker doesn't affect her horns, so you can drop it. Swap out your thunder ammo and bugs for ice ammo and snow herbs. My recommendation would be keep the Rath Soul pieces on and swap out the rest for Xeno of whatever type you have, preferably Gamma if possible. Make a Free Elem/Ammo up charm and you'll still have 4 ice shots to work with.
At pursuit 6 and equipped with the Styx build shoot her parts and drop rocks on her in area 1 to get her to move to 2. Once in 2, place bombs in front of her when she digs and continue shooting parts - chest, arms, back legs, multiple coat parts, and at some point make sure to break her horn coating. You'll have to chip them as well.
When she moves to area 3 you can keep breaking parts if necessary and drop 3 rocks from the ceiling on her. One is near where she starts and the other 2 are on the little island to the left when you enter. Bomb her head when she drops if you haven't chipped her horns by now. Eventually she'll shed her mantle and move to area 4 where she's most dangerous.
Once in area 4 I recommend not bothering to break her tail and focusing on her horns. Sleep bomb her horns with 2 mega bombs and your wyvernblasts. Farcaster out and swap to Blaze, then just pelt her horns with ice shots. You can also try continuously creating and planting mega bombs when you get openings and try to get her to charge into them. You can take slicing ammo and slashberries in case you run out of ice ammo as going back takes a long time, but you really shouldn't run out before breaking her horns completely. I'd imagine she'd take off before that.
im beginning to think its just not worth it trying to solo her.
Haha no, it's really not. It would take several runs for a party of 4 to get her up to pursuit 6, dunno how long it would take one person, but you'd have to be committed. You also need 20 bushi tickets for the clean armor. Idk how many runs I've done, maybe 10, but I still don't have the helm.
Solo runs are more to say you did it than anything else, not farming tickets.
Honestly your best bet if you wanted to try is to lobby hop and find one that's at pursuit 6 if you can stay connected long enough, then start the quest with 1/1 players, that way when you get booted it won't affect anyone in the run and you can carry on in offline.
Really not worth the time to solo.
