Why is everyone mad about mods?
I don't get why everyone gets pissed if I use SmartHunter (a mod with my dps, monsters hp and my buffs/debuffs) or if I use a mod to make farming better (see Adjusted hex drop mod to understand). If I want to "ruin" my experience, as someone said, IT'S MY BUSINESS. As long I don't one shot the monster I can do EVERYTHING I WANT, because it's my profile, so why do people get so mad for this? I didn't give give you materials, weapons, etc and I didn't one shot the monster as well, so WHY DO PEOPLE GET MAD IF YOU TELL THEM YOU USE THOSE MODS? The fun fact is that they would have never known it if you didn't tell them, because basically is impossible to notice... This community...

A more important question is: Why do you care what some random internet people think about your mod usage?

If it really bothers you so much, then just never mention you use mods. Nobody can whine at you if they never knew in the first place.

I wouldn't consider a DPS meter, monster healthbar or those part beam-effect mods a "cheat", and definitely not as something that would ruin the experience. At least two out of three of these things are common features in most games.

Personally I've never met anyone so far who considers those mods as cheating, but if people DO get angry, I think people just get mad because they wanna immerse themselves in the game, and pretend to actually be the hunter. That means metagaming is a big no-no.

But just don't let anyone know you're using those mods, and they won't complain. Like you said, it's impossible to know unless they're told.

I don't actually care I just don't get their points because there aren't any in their reasons

I would say in the older games HP Display cheat would make you never use "Capture Guru" skill and never fear to accidentally killing a monster in a capture quest(you should be cautious) since you can see how much it has left and stop attacking immediately.
Nowadays we get the skull icon near death so /care today.

I'm a "law-abiding" person so I personally would never use mods unless it was on an alt-character that I don't care at all about :P

I'm not implying I hate people using mods, in fact one of my friends use mods and I'm cool with it.

Speaking of mods, shouldn't there be an animation cancelling mod out by now? I know many people hate not being able to cancel their attacks and stuff :P

Its because "muh holier than thou" non modders are butthurts cuz your definition of fun doesnt match theirs.

Any mods making your game easier and playing the non intended way by the devs are by definition cheating (even if sometimes the intended way is pure garbage).

Since capcom stance on mhw cheating is : "meh, but don't hope for help if you break your game" you can do whatever you want, just don't be a complete phallus ruining the fun for others like 1hit killing monsters in multiplayer, do it solo if its what amuse you.

Smart hunter is a absurdly powerful tool, knowing when a monster staggers, para etc. Proc is extrem helpful,

Having buff/debuff timer makes things easier

Also the dps meter is a nice ego boost ;)

Because in the brains of some people, all kinds of "advantage" are equal.
Light pillars on pickups, raising your stats to oneshot monsters. Same thing.

There's nothing wrong with mods, but what you're using are cheats. Don't blame "mods" for your lack of skill (SmartHunter) and luck (Adjusted hex drop).

Now this is the clickbait content I'd expect the average player to watch. Obligatory Discord and all, some prime ♥♥♥♥.

Genuine question: What's the appeal of seeing the monsters true health at any given time? You can tell they are at 30% when the first slinger pod drops and every subsequent pod drop is another 10%. Skull is typically at 15% (monster can be capped at 20% btw, after the second pod drops). Exceptions to this rule are obviously Xeno who rains pods and AT Nerg who I'm fairly certain limps way earlier than other monsters - if HP info is correct, he's over 30% still.
