Trueshot Deco
What exactly does it affect? I get it affects the damage of Dragon Piercer but anything else in the bow? Also is there any other bow decos recommended? Always looking to up my bow damage. Please explain what they do if you suggest one, dont just type out the name.

Special Ammo Boost/True Shot affects in the case of the bow only its dragonpiercer
but for LBG/HBG its boosts the Wyvernblast, Wyvern Heart and Wyvernsnipe

But i would recommend to build a elemental bow setup ->

Mighty bow
- to gain access to Level 4 Charges

Constitution :
- Level 1 (Dash Juice + Food Skill Black Belt)
- Level 3 (Black Belt or Juice)
for being near the cap from stamina consume reduction

Normal Shots
- for increase your normal / rapid arrow damage

Spread/Power Shots
- for increase your spread / powershot damage

High Critical Eye, Weakness Exploit, <Insert Element> Up, Critical Element

In case of a Dragonpiercer build

- Piercing Shots + Special Ammo Boost

it affects dragon piercer for bow, wyvern blast for light bowgun and wyvernheart/snipe for heavy bowgun. if you're looking to up your bow damage you could consider going for critical element. try to find mighty bow jewel for the additional charge level and use normal shots and spread shots jewel for normal combos

The trueshot deco affect all "Special attacks" from Ranged Weapons.
- For the bow its indeed the Dragon Piercer
- For the LBG it affect the mines damage
- And for the HBG it affect both special shots (Wyvernsnipe and Wyvernheart)

For bows the "Bow Charge Plus" rarity 8 jewel is a must have, it adds one more charge to your bow, dealing way more damage on the long term.

sry 4 bed england btw

Yeah you see guys ive been trying but the great jagras just wont drop the Bow Charge Plus jewel. It just dropped the Trueshot one though so im hoping for another, as well as the bow charge plus.

It's only good for a raw bow build that gets tons of multipliers for dragon piercer spam.

would Mighty Bow affect the dragon piercer if i charge it up then trigger it? wouldnt that be good for the dragon piercer build?

Mighty bow only adds 5% damage to dragon piercer.

Of course It would, totally recommended. Though Dragon Piercer builds aren't that used in general, except on monsters like Bazel or Xeno. It's good for starters but it becomes quickly obsolete once you get how elemental bows works.

Its low drop is due too high amouth of decos

yeah see i managed to take down xeno solo in 15 mins or so, so many piercers. Im wondering if i can use it to solofarm the Kulve Taroth raid (currently having issues with my internet) or does the emperor nugget or whatever not drop except from a kill?

There's literally no way you can solo AT Kulve with such build. You'd prefer a more consistant, fast and powerful way to fight with by example thunder elemental bow. Though its not really possible to solo her this early in the game. The emperor nuggets drop both from a kill and in the rewards aswell.

DP builds are kind of old hat, the dps is poor and you're open for 8 secs, and even then its no guarantee that the monster will still be there when you loose the arrow.

That being said here are the DP skills you will neeed:

Affects damage:
Piercing shots: obtainable via Lavasioth greaves or deco. Raises DP damage directly
Special Ammo Boost: Raises DP damage.
Peak Performance, Attack boost, Agitator: raises attack and dp damage overall. Use these as filler skills

Crit Rate:
Crit Draw: highly specialized builds that use the 100% crit bonus from crit draw, requires constant sheathing, and quick sheathe.
Critical Eye: DP does not proc Weakness exploit since you aren't hitting weakpoints, you will need other sources of crit if you don't want to use crit draw methods.

DP builds don't really strafe so its probably one of the few bow builds that won't require any sort of stamina replenishment.

That's all for DP.

For just raising bow damage in general here's a few things to consider:
Bow excels at elemental damage and is therefore in your best interest to use elemental bows and stack elemental crit versus raw damage.

Most standard bow builds will have some form of rathalos crit (rathalos 2 piece bonus) generally taken from the rath soul helm and rathalos mail (since they have the most useful skills)

Here are the bow skills for elemental bow (DPS bows) By this i mean you will need to fill these skills first before you add more skills to your build.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Weakness Exploit (raises affinity when hitting weakpoints. Since you're ranged weakpoints are easily accessible)
Constitution (minimum of 3 usually from the charm, lowers stamina cost for shooting and dashing with bows. Lower stamina drain means more shots, less downtime)
Elemental Crit (rathalos 2 piece set bonus) This also means Kjarr weapons (ie: weapons with innate elemental crit) can ignore this since they have it built in.
Elemental attack up (Fire attack, ice attack, etc depending on the element. Elemental attack skills vary depending on weapon, since each weapon caps element at different levels. In general 3 lvls will do the trick)
Critical Eye (bow builds generally have a minimum crit requirement of 90 in for decent to good damage. The rule for critical eye is 4 lvls or higher is best)

FILLER and OPTIONAL SKILLS
After these are filler skills: they don't directly affect your damage, they do this indirecty.

Vitality 3- Bow takes more damage from physical so vit 3 is usually required or recommended for hard hitting monsters and to prevent 1 shots. Vitality as a rule is you either get lvl 3 or you dont get it at all.

Earplugs: Great for monsters that roar frequently, bazel, diablos or fights where you have to engage 2 monsters at once. The rule for earplugs is you either get lvl 5 or dont get it at all.

Evade Extender: mosters are hard coded you be able to hit you or aim at you with a regular dash. Evade extender raises the dash from your strafes to about 1.5 times, allowing you to easily kite tail swipes and wide attacks such as Devil Jho's.

Peak Performance, Agitator, - these boost raw damage indirectly by filling certain conditions. They're nice to have, but only if you have room in your build after filling the above skills.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
Free Element- Some bows who have the highest DPS will sometimes have their element hidden (such as thunder) This means getting Free element from either deco's or kirin and KT armor sets.

TOP BOWS:
Here is a list of bows most bow mains should have.
Ice: Kjarr takes top, followed by Legia Snowfletcher.
Fire: Anja Arch
Thunder: KT Thunder followed by Kjarr thunder. The craftable option is Flying Kadachi Strikebow
Water: KT water followed by Kjarr Water. The craftable option is... I dunno.. hunter's proudbow?
Dragon: Dragonbone bow or Kjarr decay. A good alternative with coats is also the Hazak bow.

go for behemoth it has a better change to drop rare decos

btw nobody mentioned stamina surge which can be nice in combo with blackbelt food buff so you can save some constitution and use these slots for stamina surge

jesus. See i use the Nergi Bow fully upgraded. I do love me some dragon piercer but seeing as I play mostly solo i will definitely need to stop using a DP build and use a more dps build
