Why would you go for the drachen armor?

Been coming back from a long monster hunter break and heard behemoths drachen armor set is supposedly this end all armor that goes into all of your builds but I just don't see it.
Everything worthwhile it gives you is masters touch and crit eye but you can get that much more efficiently with the legs, helmet and gloves from the teo Y set that also has good fire res and also leaves you with 2 more armor parts to complete your build rather than 1.

Why would I ever want to use the drachen armor outside of maybe an elemental insect glaive helicopter build which is pretty far away from "goes with everything"?

I think you guys are missing the point I was originally trying to make.

Are you honestly telling me that after slaying every single AT monster multiple times, you said to yourself, "No, I'm never EVER going to use any of these Y gear set bonuses I worked really hard to get, and I'm only going to use 4-piece Drachen on literally every single one of my builds until Iceborne comes out."

2 reasons

1 master touch is op
2 in terms of useful skills and slot draken pieces are extremely efficent

on my end i do hope there is NO master rank draken
draken meta for 95% of things made world endgame quite boring imo

Uhh, yep it's included. Uhm since I try to use different styles I did use Drachen armors with Taroth Buster Poison Gunlance for melee only runs but I really, really, don't like using slapstick because it has no booms(Nope don't say it, I hate harpoon) so probably used it only 1-3 times for each of them I think. I had to use mantles because I didn't get that much defensive options though.

Yeah, I hate slapstick too for the same reason - IMO if you're going to optimize for slapstick with master's touch, you're better off using a regular Lance.

I prefer the new Arch Tempered Teostra Armor has some crazy boosts, all monsters go done within 10 - 15 mins even Arch tempered ones

This thread made me think, so I took a look at my builds. I felt like I used a lot of Drachen, but doesn't look as grave as I thought. I'm just an average LS peasant though, not a godlike weaponmaster like most people here.
My AT builds:

Vaal, Kirin, Nerg = 4x Drachen (+ Kulve y, Nerg y, Luna y, respectivly)
Kushala, Lunastra = 3x Kush (2 y), Nerg y, Kulve y
Teo = 3x Teo (2 y) + 1x Drachen + 1x Luna b
Xeno = 3x Teo y, 2x Kulve y

The Teo+Drachen+Luna build has only 1 point Peak Performance less than Drachen, but more fire resi, so I use it versus all fiery monsters.

Well Y Teo gives you master touch too and only need 3 pieces unlike Drenchen.

you know the horn is a support weapon right? try teaming with a good hunting horn user and you will never look down on them again depends which horn they use but they can either give rest of team less down time via heal, stamina or stun resist buffs or boost there damage output either way drastically reduce time it takes to kill the monster

Why would I use something that's worse than Drachen? I like being efficient, the faster I'm done with the target, the faster I can move on to the next.

If the only thing you care about is efficiency, you should probably stop and ask yourself why you're using a melee weapon.

Unless you're killing everything with infinite ledge GS strings

There are no support weapons, just because corner horners don't have the bollocks to fight doesn't mean that such a thing as "support weapons" exist in this game franchise.

urhhh, what set gave you nearly full expert skill, critical boost, some attack boost, and bunch of lvl 2, 3 deco slots ?

Did I mention the master touch for white sharpness weapons ?

U dont see it doesnt mean its not true.

As said, Master's Touch is absurdly powerful, and ontop of it the set comes with tons of crit boost, necessary Attack Boost to hit 4 ez, and the Crit Eyes.

It's a sad situation really, since a lot of times when I'm trying to set up a DPS build, any Teo Gamma mix ends up being inferior to just slapping on 4 pieces of Drachen purely because of all the Crit Boosts.

Because speedrunners are totally not a thing and people should just do things the way you want it ?
