Arch-Tempered Xeno'jiva is the worst AT Elder Dragon for a CB user

Holy crap is this dude annoying as hell to fight. So far I've fought ever AT except for Kushala Daora and Xeno'jiva is by far the worst. First off you pretty much need Heat Guard and Tremor+3 to make him not the biggest pain in the world, but even after that he's just so annoying. His attacks have massive hitboxes while his own body can be difficult to hit because he's constantly moving. When he flies into the air you basically just have to sit and watch him because half the time you don't have any pods to shoot at him and even when you do it's hard to hit him in any way to make it worthwhile. He also takes the longest to kill of any AT monster.

I don't want to make a big whine post but phew this dude is not fun to fight.

Have you tried using your shield?

I'm pretty sure Charge Blade comes with a shield.

I took the easy route and made a Wide Range build with Guard Up so I could safely block almost everything including the beam. Great stuff to see your name in the mission complete medals saying something like "Buffs and Heals applied: 900+"

I did actually pull my weight and slap his feet a bit with some kind of Paralysis Kjarr shield or whatever, something like that anyway, but I definitely was bottom damage dealer. I kept people alive though!

Worst Arch Tempered monster though I agree. One of the best sets though. Go figure.

i fought em with CB just fine, the trick is not everything he does is meant to be blocked, you will be dance dodging the ground explosions. if the first explosion goes off and doesnt hit you, but you were standing close, then your next move is to roll into it and punish his body! :)

There are definitely worse fights than AT Xeno for CB. The key for a good xeno fight is aiming for his feathers that spawn at his hands early on, breaking them will trigger the critical state quicker. Once you see the crit state about to go off (the chest starts glowing after u trip his leg) go up underneath his chest, block the wind pressure then AED his chest, that'll topple him and you can SAED his juicy chest for thousands of dmg. If he doesn't go down during crit state, try going into Axe mode and upswing into his chest to reach it (axe morph also works). That'll make the matchup WAY easier.

AT Kirin, AT Kush, AT Luna if she's on her period, and AT Nerg are way worse matchups, even though CB still destroys them they're incredibly annoying in comparison to AT Xeno, but it's also just really dependent on your perspective and how you deal with problem solving. I hope this helps out.
