Help for Lance or Bow build that aren't decoration intensive.
Hi, I want to ask you guys for help regarding builds. I'm HR 50 I want to farm elder dragons and decorations atm I can only take down regular Nergi and tempered Kirin but it takes atleast 20 min for Kirin. Tempered Teo and regular Luna just hurts so much. I don't have good rare decos yet so I'd like to ask for suggestions on bow or lance builds that aren't deco intensive. Thank you so much.

thank you but those builds in the list are mostly using good decos and Gamma sets, which I dont have. I'd like to ask to for build suggestions that can help me get to those later stages.

Geralt set. Nice and simple. Works well for lance. Not so much for bow.

those are speedruns sets, you can work with the core skills for each weapon and really doesnt take too much

like elemental damage/stamina for bow and Guard/guard up for lance after that all other skills are for the sake of DPS or utility.

For lance build use the odo lance if you dont have the taroth r7 claw.
build for 4 crit eye (2 behe pieces is enough), 3 weakness exploit (dragonking eyepatch, teo alpha vambrace, or dante's leggings, and a deco), and masters touch (with 3 teo or 4 behe pieces), so that your affinity stays in white, alternatively you could get protective polish skill.
additionally you can build 3 guard (with ironside charm or 3 ironwall deco, which are pretty easy to get) for more aggresive counter blocking (e.g. countering diablos's double horn bash).
getting guard up is not necessary and wasteful if you don't have the deco'.
for the other skills you can adapt with the skills given by the armor you're using.
For augmentation get a heath and a damage augment.
and dont forget to get the elementless skill.

Odogaron Lance is pretty good, think it's called Gharon Dharma II or something. Odogaron weapons in general are non-elemental and have a good chunk of white sharpness, with a maxed sharpness bar so you can't benefit and thus don't need any Handicraft.

Typically lower on the damage though, but it's still pretty comfortable to use. Naturally high affinity so you can combine it with other affinity boosting stuff and make it into a fairly competent workhorse.

Without considering decorations then - and without knowing what your playstyle is like - consider the skills the benefit a high affinity lance, like Guard, Evade Extender, Weakness Exploit, etc.

It's really hard to come up with any kind of decent set that doesn't involve decorations, unless you use the droll Drachen set which is usually everyones "I don't have any decorations or intelligence, help me!" set, if you have it. Otherwise I dunno man, slap on like Dragonking, Bazel Chest B, Teostra Gaunts B, Nergigante Coil B and Kushala Legs B with whatever charm you like..or something like that. If you've lucky enough to have a non-elemental decoration slot that in I guess.

Sounds like a terrible set to me, but if you can use it to take on some Tempered monsters you won't be in welfare mode for long hopefully. Sorry I'm not more intelligent to help :steamsad:

I donno about Lance budget builds

But for bow
- Rath Soul Helm beta
- Rathalos Mail beta
- Teostra Arm Beta
- As u like
- Lavasioth Boots Beta
- Fitness Charm 3

These gives u
- Crit Element
- Weakness exploit lvl 3
- Construction lvl 3
- Spread / Power Shots
- Crit boots lvl 1 ( not really necessary)

These are armor skills alone . u still have deco slots to fill

These armor skills without decos cover most of the core skills of bow . You only need ..

- Bow Charge Plus
- Elemental deco
- Normal shots
- Crit eyes

To have meta set .

When u have access to Behemoth and KT you can replace something like this

- Rath soul helm beta
- Rathalos Mail Beta
- Drachen Arm
- KT gamma coil
- Lavasioth boots beta
- Fitness charm 3

Btw craftable bows are
- Anja Arch 3 for fire
- Legiana bow for ice
- Kadachi Strikebow Bow Thunder
- Hunter Proud bow for water and
- Dragonbone bow for Dragon
As for Bow with Hidden Element , like Hunter Proud Bow
- use Kirin Legs beta and KT coil beta . The rest are the same .

I know some good lance budget builds since I used them myself!
Some valuable early game pieces for Lance include:
- Dragonking eyepatch, Bazel chestpiece, Uragaan gloves, coil and boots.
- Rathalos helm and chest piece
- Kaiser gloves
- Kulve Y coil
- Dober chest and Boots

The Uragaan gloves and boots alone also give you Guard 3, which is more than enough to block most monsters.
If you need Guard 5, throw in a Bazel chestpiece with Uragaan gloves B and Uragaan boots A.
Only use the Uragaan coil when you need Guard Up, although that Partbreaker skill is great for Kulve Taroth.

The more important skill to focus on is Weakness Exploit 3/3, which you can get in a few ways with these pieces:
- Rathalos B chest + Kulve Y coil or Kaiser B gloves
- Dragonking Eyepatch A + Kulve Y coil or Kaiser B gloves
- Kaiser A gloves + Kulve Y coil
- Any of the above with Tenderizer jewels

I recommend the Kulve Y coil because it's relatively easy to get at HR16 when the Kulve Taroth siege event is up, and it's REALLY good for many setups.

Combine this with whatever charm you want. Attack 3 charm + your 1 given attack deco? Sure. Vitality 3 charm? OK. You could even invest in the Exploiter (WE2) or Ironside (Guard3) charms, too, for variety.
I generally don't recommend Maximum Might for lance if you like power guarding or charging a lot. Not as useful as Weakness Exploit or Critical Eye on lance.
