Do Lucky Vouchers guarantee rare rewards?
I've read this in a couple of places, but I've also seen people question it. Does anyone now for sure if they work this way, and how it works?

Does it guarantee a rare reward, or just increase the chances? Which reward is it if a monster has more than one rare one? Do you need a gold slot to get it, or any color? Does it work on quests, or just investigations (aside from the zenny bonus)?

Thanks!

no. a voucher basically just increases the AMOUNT of quest rewards you get at the end. but what these extra slots will contain remains entirely rng with the same rates as before. it doesnt increase rare dropchance at all.

basically (the numbers are random aswell for quest reward slots only very few are 100% fixed these numbers are just an example) :

lets say a quest would grant you 10 boxes (fields or whatever you wanna call these blocks at the rewards screen) of rewards
(these can contain ANYTHING from monster parts to armor spheres to whatever that monster can drop on top of its parts) without a voucher. if you had used a voucher before that same quest you would have maybe gotten 15 boxes of rewards instead of 10.

(reminder these numbers are entirely rng for both so if youre unlucky you might still only end up with like 8 boxes even with a voucher sometimes)

oh and the voucher doubles the reward money at 100% rate XD

but that basically doesnt matter as money is a non issue. if you run out just spam spread ammo bowgun at great jagras with bandit mantle. problem gone.

this is purely from personal experience from 100s of hours with the game^^

From what I've seen it increases chances not guarantee's a rare drop. It also boosts the zenny quest reward quite a bit. The voucher works on any quest you're given the option to use it on.

no it doesnt give you a 100% shot at rare stuff, it DOES however maximize your quest reward rolls and double zenny earnings.

People have already answered the question flawlessly but I figure I'll add that I only ever saw the point of using a Lucky Voucher when farming Zorah Magdaros for a gem. Or the Ancient Leshen for a Mutagen if you don't mind risking losing it to a squad wipe, I guess.. Most days I forget to even use them.

I suppose with Arch Tempered Zorah Magdaros being a thing and dropping gems and streamstones like crazy it's even less useful now.

I guess you could you make great use of it wearing a mixed set of Kirin and Legiana, breaking / severing all the monster parts and then capturing it for absolute max rewards...not really necessary though, in most cases.

Also I'm not really sure how the bronze / silver / gold reward boxes work, but I've seen low grade high frequency rewards appear in the gold box too many times and I'm pretty sure I've seen high grade low frequency rewards appear in the silver box before too...not sure if Lucky Vouchers effect the rolls you get from those, but considering Investigations have multiple uses and already shower you with bonus loot it's probably again not worth counting on a Lucky Voucher for much.

Use it for money then? :steammocking:

So it increases the number of rewards you earn in the main rewards box? Does it have any affect on the bronze/silver/gold rewards from investigations?

purely from experience : nope. if it does affect these boxes in either normal investigations or tempered ones then i could never notice a difference at all. and given how it affects the actual rewards that kind of makes sense as the amount of boxes is fixed and the voucher has been proven to not increase the chance of rare rewards by default either.

yeah typically i'll use it for a monster quest with materials i need and if im not in need then its dumped on quests for cash, or on tempered elders for stream stone chances.

Do those vouchers increase the chance for AT tickets, too? (Because they increase the amount of rewards one gets, not the chance per reward)

yes. they definitly do. keep in mind it remains RNG if more tickets are selected but the chance raises. i got 3 vaal and 3 nerg tickets in 1 kill once after useing a voucher. (you can still get 3 tickets without it but due to more slots with voucher the chance increases)

not sure if more than 3 is possible on normal ATs. on zorah i got 4 tickets at once but i think zorah always gives 2 tickets as 100% to begin with as they are in the same slot.
