Need help farming nergigantes tail, my weapon cant cut?

as long as its the investigation of your target monster, tails can be given as a reward in those boxes. they are actually pretty common.

Also, just make a weapon that can cut. Plain and simple. There's no reason you should only use a single weapon type.

Nergi just has a REALLY strong tail is all - relative to his total HP pool, he has the toughest tail in the game. (it has about the same amount of HP as Xeno's tail, despite Nergi only having a fraction of Xeno's total health)

Keep at it, and you'll get it eventually.

managed to get both tails, one with investigation and another with the help of Moku. im considering geting a mele weapon for a second build. ill make sure this one cuts :) im just focusing on finishing the game RN with my heavy bowgun.

You CAN cut tails with bowguns, by the way, just use one that has access to slicing ammo. However, It would also probably take forever since slicing ammo was nerfed to the ground. Might not even be possible without good enough weapon and armor skills.

You CAN cut tails with bowguns, by the way, just use one that has access to slicing ammo. However, It would also probably take forever since slicing ammo was nerfed to the ground. Might not even be possible without good enough weapon and armor skills.

yeah, i used to cut tails with that (took a long time even with good aim, sometimes i had to craft extra ammo. thing is i switched to spread and my BG didnt have slicing ammo capacity, so i could not do it. then i learned you can still get it through investigations so im fine now :)
