Recommended defenses to fight Lunastra?
I have 311 defense right now and am getting bodied. I can do Teostra no problem, but Luna absolutely decimates my HP, I want to learn the fight but it feels like every time I go for a hit I get blasted for 60%+ of my HP and have to heal up, or maybe I'll get battered by her tail and carted.

I'm hesitant to use my armor spheres since I wanted to save them for the blast set I'm going to eventually make from her, but first I actually need to be able to actually kill her and all.

Probably not worth.

If you can augment armor you can probably hit 400+, but mostly you should worry about hitting 20+ Fire resist and chug Cool Drinks etc. If you keep getting hit over and over and have to heal, that's just you getting caught in a bad rhythm.

Hit the legs, drop the rocks in the center area on her, try to mount her for knockdowns, then join the hate club that trashes her as the low point of the game and groans when some oaf tries to pretend she's a well designed interesting fight.

best defence its to bring jerky and know when to superman jump her nova, also never ever get up if you get knockdown by her nova.

Lunastra its a ♥♥♥♥♥ for any swordman becouse her weakpoint are the wings and face, no to mention her moves has huge hitboxes.

my advice its to stay in her tail until you cut it off then move to the face, when i say stay i dont mean you will stay 24/7 under her.

Armor spheres aren't hard to get. Just spam bounties or KT siege.

Dont worry about the spehres i got al lot of that in the last hour from Theo, eat some element resist food and maybe fire defense decos too (if your fire defense way too low) and drink a cold drink that can help you a little (by the way dont flash her when she´s flying, you would trigger her AoE instantly) hope i can help you a little bit maybe we can farm you something together
just add me in steam^^

Or plan ahead and flash her to get her to use her move when you can reliably make it to a safe distance. Also, if you keep Shattercryst in your slinger you can knock her out of her AoE early. If she is trying to leave the zone you can safely flash her without the AoE, forcing her to land instead of move to another area.

Sounds like a plan Tregenos :D

Bring some QOL skills if you're not used to fighting her.
-Earplugs 4/5
-Wind Resist 5/Kushala's set bonus
-Heat Guard
-Minds' Eye
-Health Boost 3

Melynx the blast set I'm going to eventually make from her

I think the most *usefull* parts are head and boots in my opnion. Depending on what your playing this set can give you nice HP bonus and allows you to reach 200 stamina when you have two parts from her.

the complete set is meh but with the right parts from other sets it can be incredible good^^

Sorry i faile to copie this right xD

It probably isn't going to be worth, but I don't know what else to do in this game right now.

And I'm aware I'm in a bad rhythm, it's just that trying to learn her is extremely punishing, and I wanted to know what sorts of defenses I'd need to make the learning process less time consuming. 20 fire def is going to be hard to manage, but I'll try that.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

Then good luck and when you need help by something ask or add me^^ and now i going back to Teo >_> so i hope you drop something interesting now....

20 fire def is super easy because you get up to 15 from the canteen.
Crystal bursts (flash is also possible on normal) are your best friend: She sometimes stands around, just pumping up her magic. If you hit here with a burst/flash (or really much damage) you will stop her powering up. No power up = no nova. She sometimes still powers up instantly with a roar, nothing you can do about that.

Best defense in this case is attack

her face is not a weakspot despite the numbers it shows actually. its hitzone value for sewer on the face is below 45. thus memeness exploit doesnt apply to her face either. only the wings have a hitzone value that triggers it.

as for the thread 300 defense is low. cancernastra was designed for max gear players clearly. she still hits hard at 500 defense sometimes.

400 defense should be achieved pretty easyly even without augments and is probaly the minimum to actually take her on.

excludeing collabs its probaly the most hated monster. for a good reason.

Does the weakspot thing apply to Teo as well? Luna was taking waaaay longer to kill, and I'm doing a Crit Element SA thing, so losing out on crit damage seems extremely detrimental to my damage.

Regardless, I did actually manage to complete the Teo x Luna special quest. I didn't upgrade my armor, but I got to 37 fire defense since it was being suggested a lot. Am going to upgrade to 400 phys def just so grinding her for gems won't make me want to quit this game again. Pretty disappointed Luna is as obnoxious as she is, she seemed super hype when I first saw her.

I ended up making Kushala set for wind negation, kinda pulls the claws out of Lunas supernova, other than that just bring jerky and cool drinks or fireproof mantle to negate the rest of the supernova
