Quality of life mods.
There's a few mods I would like to install such as souvenir light pillars and what not for quality of life but I'm not sure if I could get banned for things like that? anyone know what the ban system is? I won't install any till I can confirm I won't be banned

If you play Offline, you won't be banned for sure.
Online, I don't know.

There's one mod that allows you to see other people while in Astera. If they have the mod, they can see you. The mod also adds the gathering Hub lasses near the cafe. Not a huge mod, but something I think is neat. Iceborne will actually feature the main zone as the community hub rather than restricting it to a smaller area like the Gathering Hub.

There's also a mod that adds several convenient NPCs to the Gathering Hub so you don't have to take Load Screens to access them. The Trail Raiders are even accessible without having to load your room.

This and Smart Hunter. Once you know your monsters and weapons well enough you can just use a monster health bar as your hud and thats all. Really allows you to enjoy the visuals of the game without all the clutter around the screen and is a nice challenge from always being able to see your exact health, stamina, weapon sharpness, etc. Also never heard of anyone being banned and it seems like thats what the majority of players agree with.

You dont get banned for using mods. Good QoL mods are Light Pillars, all NPCs in the hub, I have the profanity filter disabled.

i recommend a dose of actually being helpful instead of giving useless advice like that.

seriously. he just wanted something recommended to him.
No, you won't be banned. AFAIK there is no ban system in place. That being said don't be that guy who uses the one hit kill mods in multiplayer. If you want QOL mods

The pillar of light mod is fantastic especially when the deco farming events come around

The disable profanity filter is one I'm fond of because, obvious reasons.

The mod that lets you see other players in the main area of astera instead of just the gathering hub is nice and if they have it they can see you as well.

A transmog mod is always nice for preference.

The mod that adds a lot of the NPC's to the gathering hub is nice but is known to cause crashes unless they've fixed it finally I'm not sure though.

Otherwise, Sound effect and ENB mods are always nice. Find one that suits your style. Cheers mate.

Never heard of anybody getting banned, myself included. Even speedrunners use mods. There is no reason not to if you want to.
can mods break your save? like making the game crash or breaking some item?

also what happen if you save a game where there is mods installed and you remove those mod and load that save. it is still safe? because in my experience modding skyrim it wasn't safe.. i've never mod mhw before, can anyone explain?

I use pillars for a year. It should be built-in functionality in the game. Especially useful on Kulve to track its brazilion broken parts.

I have had different mods across many different patches, and my main save still works just fine. Nothing broke despite many updates and many mods. I can't speak for all of them though, maybe there's a mod that adds something unexisting to the game, never used any of those.

Souvenirs Light Pillars & Improved NPC locations. Get them from Nexus mods.

Adds light pillars to dropped shiny loot & adds certain NPCs (smithy, resource center, botanist, tailrider safari, the Argosy captain etc.) to the gathering hub respectively.

Neither mod has gotten me banned after 100+ hrs of using them online.

ED: most mods WON'T get you banned OR break your save (but back it up anyway).

I've tried:
  • The above mentioned 2 mods
  • Item shop mods, like Sorted Shop (All Items) - great for restoring a lost/ deleted char.
  • Transmog mods (i.e. handlers Halloween dress for player etc)
  • Overlay mods (SmartHunter Overlay - recommended) - great for seeing breakpoints etc

The ones that WILL get you banned is pretty much anything touching AT Kulve and things like damage/ one-shot mods (according to Discord users).

Sneaky edit: Shop mods sometimes add items to the game that aren't implemented - these will break your game if you use them and save. Use your noggin
