Rathalos Tree Longsword

Hi fellow hunters

Question can somebody provide me info on the Rathalos tree line for the longsword the 2nd sword u can get from it rarity 6 what the recource requirements are it only shows 1 and the rest ??? im new to the game i looked up on wiki page what this sword needs to craft am i missing something? that the ??? is not showing up or is this mainly because i haven't gotten the item yet the wiki confuses me saying i would have to kill or capture the Azure Rathalos i've done this multiple times + the normal Rathalos but i cant seem to unlock this weapon to figure what the actual recources out if anyone could help me out what these are much appreciated! :D

Its probably high rank material, anything pass rarity 5 count as high rank gear.

The Rathalos Scale+ suggests that you need to fight High Rank Rathalos.

Actually, any + in materials suggests the high rank version.


My guess is you are still in Low Rank and have yet reached High Rank.

Not aure i understand what weapon you want to craft - the rarity 7?
You need 2xTeostra Horn+

Craft with: Rathalos Scale+ x6, Rathalos Carapace x4, Rathalos Wing x 2, Rathalos Plate x 1, 24000 x zenny

The wiki page is wrong to say it comes from Azure Rathalos.

What OP is missing is:
Rathalos Scale+ x6, Rathalos Carapace x4, Rathalos Wing x 2

All these can be gotten from High Rank Rathalos.

There is no Assigned Quest for High Rank Rathalos.

The Assigned Quest that makes us fight a Rathalos is low rank version:

A high rank quest is at least 6 stars and that quest is only 5 stars.


The very first high rank Assignment is called "A Colossal Task".

So, anything fought before that is all Low Rank.

To fight a High Rank Rathalos, you have to find it yourself either via Expedition or SOS.

Once you fought it once, you should easily find investigations and optional quests with it.

Yes the high rank version is different. If you don't know what high rank is then you are probably not far enough in the story.

You need to pick a high rank quest or investigation. They have orange stars on the mission board.

So i should just go on expedition run around in the hopes to find it in the wild? or be lucky that theres an SOS avaible?
