Guaranteed flinches
What I mean is stuff like countering Jho's flinch attack for a knockdown or interrupting enraged Nerg's double paw swipe (not really a flinch, but not sure what else to call it). I'm wondering if there are any other guaranteed flinches/knockdowns/interactions with monsters if you attack them during specific moments like these.

I don't know about guaranteed, but it does seem very, very easy to flinch kushala out of his big wind blast. Also seems much easier to flinch kushala at his aoe ground breath attack.

There's quite a bunch, like hitting Tobi-Kadachi while in the air about to do his spinning slam thing, or hitting him when he's clinging to a wall, if that's what you mean? Like, hitting Kulu Ya-Ku while he's flying through the air with his rock will cause him to comically flop backwards and fall onto the ground for a stun.

There's also Anjanath, when he does his firebreath and firesneeze attacks, if you crack him on the nose with sufficient force you'll knock him down, just like Deviljho. Deviljho's counter mechanic seems very easy to exploit compared to other monsters though, you barely need to do any damage while he's raging at you to send him flying over, compared to other moments. Like, most of them are extremely tight with the timing or simply require a hard enough hit to exploit, whereas Deviljho has a huge opening for you to exploit that also doesn't seem to require much damage at all.

Anjanath is about the only airtight example I can think of, though. The rest are circumstancial - like flashing a Diablos into a trip when they "fly" out of a pitfall trap or from being sonic bombed, etc.

There's also moments which I'm sure you're aware of that doesn't specifically cause a flinch, but if you flinch or otherwise interrupt a monster during the animation they'll usually drop a piece of material etc. Like interrupting Tzitzi Ya-Ku when he's flashing, or Pukei Pukei when he's eating stuff, etc. Not quite what you mean, I know...but still.

Radobaan and uragaan also have guaranteed flinches out of their rolls with any 2 attacks.

Didn't know that about Jhoe, I was always salty about his flinch also doubling as an attack.

The first time it happened to me scared the living daylights outta me. After like 15 minutes of him rampaging and demolishing us, my friend finally got off a mount..

..and during that mount, I was attacking his obvious weakspot on his chest, while he was fatigued and breathing heavily, ready to be finished from a mount attack, and he suddenly snapped up a hyper speed, evil sounding roar-hiss, and then WHAM killed me, lol.

Deviljho doesn't mess around! I thought I was safe, and he was vulnerable, but instead it was I who was vulnerable..

But yeah, if you hit him during the counter, after the very specific roar-hiss thing he does, you can cause him to fall down if he's enraged - if he's not enraged he just kinda staggers a little, and becomes fatigued for like a second or so.

Good stuff! Want more monsters to have little things like this in Iceborne, rather than just relying on chain KO's, flashpod stuns, and traps anyway.

I remember tigrex having a really weird and hard to hit one with his charges, I hope that carries over

and I really want to be able to bop banbaro while hes running at me at mach 7

Nergigante will always trip if you break the spikes unless it's already tripped, doubled up with a flinch, or in the flinch animation. Not sure if you were looking for something like that or not.

Hit him right on that weird nose bone he pops out when angry with a SAED from an R12 Chargeblade, perfectly dead on, just as he's about to charge into you..

..I imagine it'd look like something out of Looney Toons lol, Banbaro sticking straight up in the air vertically, with his head buried deep in the snow

Not really practical, but when Kirin is charging, hitting the horn will make him stop and taunt in place for a while.

Either that or the new pizza cutter uppercut with it. Or a well timed TCS to make him to a flip in the air

There is something oddly satisfying about knocking an uragaan out of his supersonic rolls with a pair of rocks

There's also Crystal Burst vs EVERYTHING? probably just Elder Dragons like Nergigante, but that's also probably a given and also not exactly reliable, since it only works in Elders Recess, works all the time, and is finite supply.

Crystalburst worksthe same as scatterberries I think

People REALLY sleep on those things, they have saved me many a time from a tempered elder's big attack or a deviljhos...anything

Dropping Scatternut things seems overpowered, I dunno if it's just me or what, but I swear they're like nuclear bombs or something, everytime I've done it it's flat out KO'd the monster I'm fighting.

Doesn't do anything in multiplayer because of the scaling, but popping a redpit at some to make them fall on poor Pukei Pukei underneath it wrecks him instantly. What exactly are those things made of? I always thought they were useful like firecrackers for a distraction that you'll never ever need to use, but...they seem like fists of god lol.
