Best switchaxe?
Currently using axe of demon for it raw damage. i find it very consuming armor skills and it runs badly with drachen armor set. Had to use handicraft 5 in order to maintain the white sharpness. I had to drop important skills for critical damage like maximum might and critical eyes. Are there any good universal switch axe that worth picking up and does well to all monsters type? I am looking for switch axe that enable comfort play since i just began switch to play a bit of switch axe recently.

Any high raw with impact phial is a go
If you care about being deflected because of low sharpness, don't as charging the blade give you mind eye skill

Terror Tyrannos is the highest damage option but uses a strict set. Empress Axe Ruin can fit some utility while not being too far behind with blast procs/peak performance.

I'm rolling with the Luna/Xeno one, it has natural white sharpness and the "half sharpness loss" skill built-in. That combined with the drachen set bonus means I never sharpen the whole fight and never lose white sharpness. Raw is okay-ish but since I play with a 100% crit build it doesn't even matter, the dps loss is very minor... plus it has a decent amount of blast, wich spikes up the damage every now and then.

The thing about Axe of Demons is that it has so much raw, that you can forfeit going white and just roll with blue, considering sword attacks never bounce off anyways. Just pop elementless and you're set. You might want to put enough crit to counter the negative affinity and that's it, no use in overspending for full crit build.

Edit: adding to this, if you want to meme around, next time ATKT comes around, try to get the paralysis Kjarr, you can build that thing to be a perma stunlock. With critical status it almost feels like cheating against some enemies if you put 3 Paralysis decos on it.

taroth water, terror tyrannos, ruin, and horn are all up there. tyrannos is good for general use (and kulve) while you switch to pure raw for dragon resistant monsters like odo.

TL;DR; AoD with a super strict set will do the most damage, but needs a lot of maintenence, Temper Tyrannos is a great alternative, Kjarr Para is great for paralysis

I live by Kjarr Para when using switch axe. a 4 man group all packing one? who cares about DPS output when the monster can never move and when it can 4 people are latched onto it blowing it up.

TBH, the numbers between KJ Para and KR Para are very slight, like one or two effective raw
Teostra Switch axe is PERFECT

High dmg

Sexy looks (finally something that has a unique look, and not some garbage bone weapon with teo parts glued onto)

Blast element

Power phial

Hoping for the remaining Teo/Kush weapons to make their return in Iceborne, there's some really cool models we currently don't have. The Kush SA is one of the few Scythe models and has power phial too.

No, I mean teostra, I would have considered the luna one if it didn't have such a lazy garbage design

For a good, comfy build, I would use the Luna/Nerg SA. It has 2 medium slots, natural white, more raw than the Luna/Xeno SA and you can use it with a Master's Touch set to maintain white. It also has the Nerg Hasten Recovery perk which can be nice, but not something to build around. The Luna/Xeno is also good, but I prefer this one. For max DPS the Taroth Water is the go to.
