How much playtime could I get from this?
I got the game last night, it's my first MH and I'm quite enjoying it, but I've read somewhere that there's not much content, which got me worried...How much content is there really? How many hours could I get from the game?

Food for thought:
if MHW is not enough for you and you get bored of the endgame (depends on personal preferences, like i got bored after 300h (+another 350h on xbox before it released on PC)):

wait abit, soon™ Iceborne drops and the Endgame of MHW will be overthrown with a massive expansion pack that stacks roughly the scope of MHW´s content ontop of MHW again.

There will also be free updates, like MHW ifself had, again adding additional Monsters and stuff to Icborne after its release for free aswell.

well if you are already enjoying MHW, chances are you still will the next 500h+ as your first MH expierience. The first MH always leaves the biggest impression, i for one startet with MH3 and that was WAY smaller than MHW and still put 2000h into it haha.

a lot more than 1000 Hours XD but mostly people will stop when they already got AT Armor or hit HR100 (?)

currently im on 1600 Hours, (already got all deco and armor) but still Playing Some Random Sh*t with friends, like Doing Tempered Kirin With Melee LBG or GS Kick

well depends how you enjoy this game

MHW is on the lower end of amount of content compared to other MH titles.
30 hours means pretty much content for most games but that is nothing for a Monster Hunter game.

and to compare content:
Monster hunter world: 30ish monsters.
Monster hunter generations ultimate: 90ish monsters.

that is why people say MHW has less content.

If you like grinding for gears game then you will get 800+ hours of this game, for me (PS4) I stopped playing once I hit HR999 and got most AT armor set, I did not touch this game since November 2018 so I have no ideal which new AT released in last few months :P

Hahahah lol

Ohno, I was merely curious, why haven't you put as many hours into MHW, but now I understand.

Clearly, I have nothing to worry about. Thanks again everyone.
e

Tbh I'm working on mhw lately, my PC is kinda meh and my fps tends to drop when fighting so playing on PC is kinda eh, but I have had the game since day 1 on ps4
Makes sense! Now I understand.

600 hours and ongoing. I've done all content and scraped everything possible out of the game, BUT I've found other things to do to get more enjoyment out of it. I haven't even used half of the weapon types in this monster hunter yet. With iceborne on the way. I'm expecting to reach 1000 hours. Depends if you're a completionist and are okay with setting your own goals
Great great, thanks.

That's quite awesome! I didn't know about the expansion.
And yes, it's my first MH, mainly because I'm not really a console guy(Especially not portable consoles) So, I just couldn't play any other MH.

MH is a game you can easily sink hundreds of hours into if you like making goals for yourself to work towards. Examples including building new armor, weapons, trying out and experimenting build synergy, etc etc. MHW has low content in comparison to previous MH games but previous MH games were able to reuse assets. For a base MH game, it has more than enough content. Plus, Iceborne is coming so if you enjoy World then you have an expansion on its way.

300+ hours and this is my first MH game. It reminds me of diablo 2 in a way - the combat and combat targets are different but I find enjoyment in doing the same content trying to farm out missing gems. Got a Sharp gem and an attack gem today. Yeet.

On console I got about 100 by just casually playing solo

MH first-timer here as well, will just add my experience:

I'm 210 hours in and now approaching the end of the story. "210 hours and not finished the story? Are you daft?!" you may ask. No, I'm thoroughly enjoying myself by just:
- fighting monsters several times, learning their patterns and getting better at defeating them
- trying and mastering the different weapons
- making better weapons and armour (grinding for a Rathalos Ruby ATM)
- learning the multitude of the game's more arcane systems (which actually is quite fun)
- running investigations and expeditions for money, materials or just for fun

It's totally fine to rush to the "endgame" and grind for the best weapons, armour and decorations - but it's also fine to take it slow and enjoy yourself.

On a side note: There's likely to be a summer festival in July or August, which allows you to play all the past event quests. So go on and immerse yourself in the hunt, so you're prepared!

+500hrs soooo

I have 910 hours. It can keep you going for quite a while, that is *if* you enjoy the fights. They're all that this game has to offer, really.
