Pretty much, unfortunatly the Drachen set kind of made everything else irrelevant for most weapons, use every piece except the helmet (use a dragonkin eyepatch or something). Slap decos and voilà.

geralts armor set. its accessible and i could killl at - lunastra,- teostra, - vaal hazak and nergigante sub 15 with it. note i have already all the decorations, so you might need perhaps more time.
even without the rare decorations geralts armor is great against AT elders. it has high fire and dragon res, health boost, good defense.
drachenset has negative fire res which doesnt make it ideal against at luna and teo.

Usually slapping 3 vitality decos is enough as far as giving you defense does, Never found a mob that justifies looking at elemental resistance stats. And you know, since the stuff gives you great DPS a good third of the fight is covered by the fire/temporal mantle.

I killed most ATs with Dragonking Eyepatch, chest change on the situation (now I use Kulve one which gives crit boost+stunres), Vaal beta bracers, Vaal Gamma (beta until you kill AT Vaal ) waist and boots.

This gives much more slots than drachen, so you could have like 6 defensive skills in there and still have room to spare. With 3 Health Boost and some Divine Blessing + upgraded armour you can survive AT Nerg's divebomb, which kills everyone not running these skills.

With an offensive set you don't need to survive AT Nerg's divebomb.

The amount of people who can kill AT Nerg with a no defense skills set is probably less than 10% of all players.
Ranged weapons are an exception to this.

You don't need defensive skills because 500 defense means you can't get oneshot by anything except highly telegraphed moves which you should not be tanking anyway,

No armor will realy auto win arch tempered for you.
But having at lest one set maxed out and agumented can help out.
In the end you just have to play smart vs arch tempered elders and some attacks will one shot you reguardles of how strong your armor is.

Entirely depends on what AT monster you're facing and what weapon you're using. Also entirely depends on your skill level and how well you know the monster. You could have the best armor and jewels in the game... won't matter if you don't learn the monsters move set to a degree and learn to anticipate what attack it's going to do.

P.S: I've you yet to learn it, learn how to superman dive. It's a life saver.
