Monster Hunter: World

Monster Hunter: World

Statistiche:
So are PC controls good or garbage for monster hunter?
I have the game on Xbox One but the majority of the community is on PS4 so multiplayer is ugh. Considering getting it on PC but wanna know if the controls work well or if it's the type of game you need to hook a controller up to PC for? I can't aim on a console with a ranged weapon to save my life but PC i'm ok with them so was also wondering how the PC controls are specifically for range weapons? What about movement/dodging?

keyboard = garbage controllers = good even for Bow aim

They are good and you can rebind to your liking. Just don't enable the mouse smoothing or whatever that makes the camera less console-like, it's atrocious to look at.
I've always used keyboard so I dont know if controller is better or not but keyboard works fine
just use a damn controller
Needs rebinds on some keys but it's playable. Slow aiming is okay, but if you need to turn your camera quickly the game still retains the console's "floaty" feel of camera movement. I'd stick to a controller personally.
I play LS and its easy. The only downside is when you go into the training area it doesnt show you all attacks if you are using M/KB.I had to experiment and use youtube PC tutorial.

Other then that its fairly easy.I'm also used to M/KB so there's that.I even tried using controller and it felt really off.
since you played it on xbox, i'd just use that pad to continue on PC.
i did the same coming from PS4.
i generally don't play certain games, like action adventure or rpgs, with a keyboard.
PC controls are great just some rebinds here and there, some mouse sensibility changes to be able to adjust your aim as fast as you can and precisely without camera going nuts
got 1k hours in game and never had a issue both ranged and melee

Depends whether or not you're used to keyboard controls or not. I played DS3 to near-completion using KBM, so playing MHW on KBM is fine for me. Just rebind a few keys and try things out if you're planning to use KBM.
KnM has superior aim and fast shortcut execution time. It has faster camera control, but the action keys are sort of weird and many keys are out of reach by default. High-stress situations that demands quick items in succession, KnM will get out of it easier than controller. Range weapons will have a blast. World record runs are done with KnM with bows.

Controller is more fluid in terms of movements and action, but it is difficult to aim fast targets like Kirin or your teammates if you want to heal them with shots. Everything is within reach, but shortcut is 2 or 3-step action by default. Much longer if you have multiple pages of shortcuts. The execution time is abysmal. Range will have a hard time aiming, but melee player will find it more fluid.

Pick.
eh, i'm starting to get used to the Keyboard controls, and i actually think i prefer them.

it's weird how good the default scheme actually feels. i changed it at first cuz i thought my own setup would be better, but for whatever reason, the default feels natural to me.

definitely good with Keyboard to me.

you can enable raw input on camera settings if you use mouse and keyboard

it no longer feels like mouse tryna emulate analog movement when you flick
Didn't read the comments before but KBM controls are almost perfect, but when you are starting out you need to make sure to set the Keyboard layout for the radial menu type.
Insect glaive user (moving and aiming at the same time)

I use a razor mouse with 12 programmable

If you go through the keybind options and have the keys to bind... the controls are great

I found shooting/retracting insect almost impossible to do effectively with a controller while moving.

Using a keyboard/mouse and setting up my bind properly made this game so much more awesomerereERERER! :steamhappy:

On that note spend the time and setup your radial menu loudouts and keybinds for even better PC exclusive experience

edit : Also I think you can enable a hardware cursor or something similar to give an more responsive feedback.

PC controls have way more options, better camera control, and aim cause of all the keybinds and mouse. Controller is more precise for melee and it's easier to perform combination moves that are kind of weird on Kb&M like helmsplitter or iai sheathe when we get it. Down to preference though.
