Kestodon as mounts?

So i was watching some dude play on twitch then all of a sudden he was riding on a kestodon like a mount? i went and got the palico equipment to befriend kestodon but i cant ride them is this a thing in iceborne or am i just stupid

Riding small monsters is only an Iceborne thing. What your palico can do at the moment is befriend them, making them an extra ally to help you fight large monsters.

And, technically, your Palico, themself, can ride them into battle as a valiant steed.
