Best way to get monster hardbones?

Google says you get em from quests, but none of mine reward em. is there a easier monster to solo for them ?

You need to fight tough high rank monsters. Monsters like Odogaron, Pink Rathian, Bazel, Azure Rathalos, Legiana, normal/Black Diablos, Rathalos, Lavasioth, Uragaan, and Deviljho.

Yes. I'm not sure if the quests drop the item as well, but the monsters themselves are where the bones come from. Run investigations against these high rank monsters to have a better chance of obtaining the materials you want.

I got hundreds of hardbones from farming tempered Legiana for warped feystones but every monster of that category can drop them. Legiana, Odogaron, Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, Bazel, Uragaan, Lavasioth, Diablos, Black Diablos.

Not really but because of the way the loot tables work and because you only have to fight one monster of this category if you just follow the storyline you can end up with a shortage of these.
