If you're on the fence, skip it
I bought this game in the switch yesterday, and I'm not amazed, far from it.

To be clear, I was very hesitant to pick this up in the first place. I love the original, but I hate autorunners. Finally I couldn't resist the exitement to play Meat Boy again, unfortunately even Meat Boy can not change my oppinion about autorunners...

The game plays just with 2 buttons, jump and duck. So all the difficulty comes down to pressing those two. So rise in difficulty just means more precision in execution, and even in the first few levels, they took this to a level where I don't even want to imagine how later levels look like.

Another problem that quite often ran into is, that I didn't even know how to solve a specific situation. So it took me like 10, 20 tries just to figure out what the game wants me to do, then another 5 to 10 to execute it (keep in mind I just made it to chapter 2 out of 5 (i.e. hospital), and then there's nightmare mode on top of it, so probably you can multiply those numbers by 10 for the later levels).

Long story short. If you don't like autorunners, this game will not change your mind. As unfortunate as that is for me to say.

It's suppose to be hard. First game looks like a game made by kid who wanted to rip off SMBF.

i'd like to see you 100% the first game
unless you're just a little kid who can't handle a tiny bit of difficulty.

I'm not gonna 100 % either steam tard. I got plenty of games to play cause I'm not stuck to one launcher like you cringy reward ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
100% the game, not the achievements, bub. The game tracks completion, actually goes up to 106% iirc. If you're not even good enough to beat the first game then no one cares about your opinion on difficulty because you have no experience.
and no one here said they only use one launcher. You brought that up out of nowhere, because that's about all you can think about with your limited intelligence.

yeah, been looking forward to thise game for a long time and from trailers and screenshots i always just presumed they went fast, because that's also a part of SMB, but autorunner? thanks, but no thanks, i'm not that good at platformers so i enjoyed the previous game taking some steps slower. i never even finished SMB on 106% either, so a game about Auto Runner + QTE doesn't feel good.

i'm not sure about the level design, but if they were to make the auto running optional, that could bring back some interest in the game for me.

Just to say; I don't especially like auto runners (and I don't own the game [yet]) but I saw some gameplay videos and I must say that more than the seemingly simple gameplay, there's some really great ideas and stuff they added that make it feel like the gameplay is changing each chapter, of course it's always two buttons but after some chapters, you really don't think that it's the same game as the one you see @chapter 1.

So I'd be more leaning towards the game than OP, to sum it up :

1- You like SMB >>
A- Hate autorunners ? give it a try (refund if you don't like*).
B- Meh.. autorunners ? you can have fun there.
C- Love autorunners ? grab it !

2- You hate SMB.
- Only grab it if you love autorunners MORE than SMB.

*No idea how the epic store refund policy works, but I think you can refund the game before 14 days [NOT SURE].

The game doesn't really play like an auto runner.

In most runners. Bit trip runner series, mario run, geometry dash, etc. The gameplay look revolves around QTEs, where you react to the stage, and the pace is set for you.

In smbf, you are the one setting the pace, the stage reacts to you.

Its a disappointment..a damn disappointment. Bought it last year on egs (shame on me) and realized its almost nothing like Super Meat Boy. This is one of the worst sequels ever made.

Huh this game is still a thing
Was really interested in it and super excited over a year ago but then they switched to epic exclusive.
honestly I get why they did it not really upset or anything.
just by now I sorta feel like I moved on from the phase of wanting to play hard platformers

legit forgot this exists cuz I only look at steam, maybe i'll get it on cheap sale.

epic exclusivity makes sense. because most og fans wouldn't buy this, so might as well take upfront money.

Third game in the series and designed in a way that somehow makes me completely disinterested.
