SSS was alright but definetly the weakest of the SAC universe, plus the whole "Major gone for 2 years" thing felt so cliche.

I want a proper 3rd Gig, maybe even one that takes place between 2nd Gig and SSS or negates SSS entirely and allows for more freedom in story that way.

Careful with reboots and stuff. There are franchises that get rebooted like every few weeks (Armored Core, Ace Combat, Final Fantasy). Huge potential is getting wasted that way. If writers can't man up to continue a story beyond a certain threshold they might do better letting it rest. Maybe this is a Cyberpunk-related issue, writers being unable to imagine a future beyond point X? Like it feels as if lots of Cyberpunk fiction is unable to progress beyond the Singularity.

GitS is really post cyberpunk though, but I think a reboot would be a better idea and allow for more creative freedom than continuing the story for 3rd Gig after the Major returns.

Sorry I don't like the idea of reboots. That's just kinda lazy and defeats the point of keeping up continuity. When is Tomb Raider gonna get rebooted again? Or Devil May Cry? It feels as if too many do that these days. Some IPs could definitely get rebooted/revitalized that way, like Legacy of Kain, but I don't think GitS would need or benefit from it.

its called Solid State Society and its a movie, follows after the series and gives closure,being somewhat closer to the movie.
As for a new series,the creators were open,but it never came through,instead we got Arise wich is a reboot/prequel to the original movie.

I don't want any reboot, but a continuation of some sort would be awesome. I haven't watched SSS yet, so I am sure that ties some stuff together... but a 3rd season in the SAC series would be absolutely fantastic... Lol.

why would you buy movies on a gaming platform? then gain for the whole set i pay only 5 euro here so this is extremely pricy

and 3rd gig will never come. since apparently they are in the process of ruining the entire series with a real people movie. you know with actors who are not good enough so you see there just acting instead of getting the feeling like in the anime movies or series that its actually happening

Between ARISE, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nexon f2p shooter, and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ live action GitS Hollywood basterdization of GitS, theres just nothing to look forward to from GitS franchise anymore.

because its convenient to have it here, and i pay 10 € per season here while buying the dvd set of one would cost me approximately 20-30 € (via amazon)

You are dead wrong about the Steam game, but to each his own. I've tried defending that game but if you think it isn't good then there's no convincing you otherwise. I'm done discussing it with other people in these forums. You like what you like. To each his own. I'll just enjoy the crap out of my free GitS game that puts other free shooters to shame. Lol. I mean... the voice cast alone makes it worth playing if you're a GitS fan!
