Higher quality music assets please!
Someone has analyzed the game's soundtrack and determined that the game's included soundtrack is only 128Kbps ogg files. Ogg format is fine, but the OST really should be compressed at double that - 256Kbps is much more reasonable for a game of this quality. Play testers I talked to complained that the Vita soundtrack in-game sounds much less compressed.

Ys music is incredible - please upgrade the music quality!

Thank you.

I'm unable to open any of the .ogg or .wav files; so I don't believe replacing the music ourselves could be feasible

Someone has reverse engineered the 'encryption' and was able to determine the bitrate of the music. It is possible to replace the music ourselves, but we shouldn't have to.

I'd be willing to, I'd replace the 128kbps .ogg files with flac like quality ones. But I think that'd make the game run worse

No. Audio files take up almost 0% CPU on modern systems. It might slow down a 486...

Alright who is this person you're talking about? If you cannot say, then ask they decrypted the music files. I doubt NISA is going to implement higher quality music

A mod is already in the works... but again, we should not have to do this...

I got the code snippet from the dev guy and I was able to confirm 128kbps oggs... that sound pretty bad. We can definitely do better than this!

Not only is it 128kbps ogg, it is also unusually quiet. I put the games BGM sound all the way up, and still was not satisfactory

I haven't noticed any volume issues. Honestly I had to crank it on PS4 also.

I want to contribute to the mod; I have high quality songs from the offiicial album that I would like to replace the ogg files with.

Higher quality sound files would be massively appreciated.I actually run the youtube rips of the tracks over the top of the game in field areas as the in-game music is poor quality and low volume. It's an even bigger issue for me than the occasional crashes.

Seriously, open up Sunshine Coastline on youtube and in game and compare, the difference is absurd.

We have done file analysis, and anything over 15Khz is chopped off. It's ludicrous.

is there any way to replace them to the proper ones?
