I've done Nightmare for every other Ys game on Steam. The party-based combat (Celceta and Seven) has been pretty easy so I'm wondering if Inferno is reasonable for a blind Dana run. No spoilers please.

Inferno for the faster enemies.

The game used to run faster at high refresh rates which made the combat feel so much better but they patched it.

I started on Hard and find it very fair. Bosses take time and even regular enemies can beat the ♥♥♥♥ outta you.
I've been playing on hard but I'm not a Ys veteran. Nightmare didnt seem impossible but I'm not used to this whole flash move and flash guard system.

Start with Hard to get used to the combat and enjoy the story. Then you can go either Nightmare and Inferno for the complete trophy. It is recommended to do Nightmare/Inferno from fresh for real challenge experience though; however, if you want do higher diff NG+ from your previous Hard playthrough, do not pick Infinity mode.

Can you get all achievements in one playthrough?

Yes you can, but you will have to do it with Nightmare/Inferno in the first place. By the way, remember to save into newer slot often whenever you advance at some point! Because the game is very long that you could miss things.

Got it. I started on Inferno and find it pretty reasonable so far, but I'll keep the advice posted here in mind. Thanks everyone.

I started on Hard and bumped it up to Nightmare despite it being easy to die with sloppy play because there are so many healing items that you don't really need to get good. In hindsight, I've have opted for Inferno if I knew.

Once you get the Flash Guard timing down (early, while the Flash Move seems more like "just in time") it's not bad at all, particularly since you can keep the guard up during long extended attacks that would otherwise drain all of your health.
