Murder on Eridanos - A puzzlehedges of Forking Paths

Sooo, I've got the mission from this guy "Samuel Huttes" and before going to actually do the mission I've decided to fight some automatics , and they kinda beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of me so I ran where the named npc was to try and hide in the labirint. While I was trying to hide , one of the automatics decided it wants to shoot at me , and me being so agile I've dodged the attack , but Samuel , well, lets just say hes not so agile. Here I am , with Samuel dead from a automatic and still the mission is fine, I'm like, meh , he must not be important so I continued the mission with him dead. When I finished the mission I've just realised that I'm supposed to get the formula to Samuel to finish the mission, but guess what , SAMUEL is DEAD. and here I am wondering if I should load back 2 hours just to finish this mission cuz the game decided that even tho the main guy in the mission is dead , it should continue .
