Duration of the game

I recently started playing the game for the first time... And I just wondered how long the game approximately is... Since I'm usually pretty slow with games like these, HowLongToBeat often fails to give me a good estimate... therefore I wanted to ask if anyone could tell me how large the first location (very mild spoiler for the beginning hours of the game I guess: I just got the Unreliable running and went to space for the first time - and guessed that Emerald Vale & Edgewater are something like the tutorial / starting regions ) I compared to the rest of the game.

So if I needed around 7-8 hours for that part, how long will I be playing until the end (trying to explore everything and finish all possible quests - as I did so far as well)?

And another question on top: Will the game have a more open structure from now (location-wise) or is it just finish location 1 > go to and finish location 2 > go to location 3 and so on or will I be able to move around more freely?

I'd say what you already did amounts to roughly 10% of the game. If you play very slowly and thoroughly, you can probably spend 70-80 hours on a first playthrough (100+ with DLC). The game is pretty non-linear once more locations open up. They can also open up in a different order depending on choices you make.

I also play very thoroughly and I'm currently sitting at 6d11h playtime, which is including one DLC, minus the final area.

Roughly 30 - 40 hours for me including the DLC and most sidequests.
