54 GB?
Why do i have to download 54 GB when i see ilegal copies with 36GB? Isnt this compacted or has some hidden junk in it?

Pirated repacks are heavily compressed by breaking them down into multiple compressed archive files and then stitching them back together during install. Which means they usually take a lot longer to install, can get corrupted during download or install, and that the repackers might have an easier time of hiding malware in the files. They'll also remove things like multi-language support, which for games with a lot of voice audio can add up to a fair amount. In this case it could also depend on whether those illegal copies include the DLC or not.

Ok, that makes sense. Except the malware thing i guess drm is malware too and i had suspiscions about the legal version. But still... ive been downloading for 4 days already and i still have a lot to download.

Ouch, rough. Yeah, modern filesizes do tend to assume high speed internet these days. I think Outer Worlds had a PC physical release, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to come by now.

I don't know where you live, but in my experience, I got 1 Mbps download speed so this took about 20 hours to download.

Probably meant MBps, not Mbps.

You can guess all you want, drm is not malware.
If it quaks like a duck and bugs your game while ilegal copies dont even have it or it is neutralized then its the exact same thing for costumers. So YEAH IT IS.

The 54gb might include the dlcs. I activated the season pass later on (after the start of the download of the game), but steam didn't have to download additional files...

Really? Are you serious? Pirates get the bullcrap that they deserve, you included.

As a creator, writer, artist, ETC, I can't tell you how utterly repugnant I find your attitude. You want to ENJOY something that someone has created, you PAY for it, gawdamnit!
