One has Todd Howard and creation club and the other has... Check reviews. Really. People left a ton of informations there. The biggest difference seems to be repetition. Bugthesdas product is semi-original only to certain point. Obsidians is straightforward - because its so short.

Obsidian generally makes better games.
I would wait more for OW2 and then make a comparison, as OW is from 2019 and Starfield from 2023.

The Outer worlds feels more like a finished game than starfield.

The strongest point of starfield is the Mobile game quality ship builder but if you're coming for that you're better off with Space Engineers.

Outer World's by a large margin. Obsidian's stories imo are always worth to experience. Gunplay is a bit simple doesn't have "oomph" feel. It's doesn't have a "open world" rather, different planets (maps) that contains the main missions and side missions. Be sure to get both story DLC's for OW, story feels more impactful with the dlcs

If you like Skyrim/ESO > Oblivion and can't stand Morrowind,
Or if you like Fallout 4/76 > New Vegas and can't stand 2,
Then you'll like Starfield > Outer Worlds
The inverse is also true

I tried playing Starfield and quickly found myself both bored and disappointed. After trying it for a few hours I reinstalled "The Outer Worlds" to heal my soul. Outer Worlds is so much better and more enjoyable to play.

The difference is the outer worlds takes a crap all over starfield, fallout 4, and fallout 76. And later avowed will knock skyrim down the 7000 steps into the toilet.

Both are very forgetable titles. Outerworlds tries to funny but constantly fails. Your companions in both games are boring. Neither game has much worth exploring. No weapon nor enemy variety. It's honestly hard to believe Obsidian made Outerworlds. It's a downgraded Bethesda experience.

Outerworlds is New Vegas in Space.
Starfield is Fallout 4 in Space.

I played both and would recommend neither.

both are incredibly boring with lame, sterile writing, you'd be better off with any other RPG

Ah anyone who doesn't agree with you is a "shill." You really need to work on your comprehension skills. I said both are forgettable. Both are trash. That's a common opinion in regards to both games.

I own both and I strongly encourage you to save your money on both. I got Outer Worlds on sale and still regretted it. I tried to look past the reviews for Starfield a year after launch and also greatly regretted it. I remember reading a review saying that Starfield was the worst purchasing decision in their entire history of gaming and that gave me a laugh because it really feels that way. Premium price of $70 or more for such a bland and soulless product is just ridiculous. I also found Outer Worlds bland and poorly written, and when I realized it was going to be an in-your-face DEI game I was outtie.

An RPG must have good writing and neither game delivers that.
