State of the Spacer's Choice Edition

Basically I've picked up the Spacer's Choice Edition through Humble Choice a few months ago but read that the state of this version is really bad. Worse than the regular version. Just wondering if that has changed at all. I would love to finally play this game but buying the regular version additionally would be a total waste of money in my situation. So is the SCE enjoyable or if not, how are the chances that the developers will fix it in the near future?

Playing in 1440p, RX 6900 XT, Ryzen 7 5800X, 32 GB RAM in case there is a big performance difference between AMD and Nvidia systems.

I didn't pick up the SCE specifically, it was included in Humble Choice (where you get a selection of games each month)

I'm not sure the state SC edition is in because I started it, messed with a graphic setting (screen space reflections, turned it off because I hate how the reflections change on the edges of the screen, it is glaring and distracting) and the game crashed and I was like nah, screw this, the rumors must be true. I got mine in the humble bundle choice last month too, but luckily I just got this version in the new humble bundle along with that Rick and Morty guy's game High on Life. It's only $30 for the full bundle or $20 with all but High on Life. I'm going to play this version since I didn't notice any difference in the SC edition other than an immediate crash. My specs are 5800x3d, 6800xt, 16gb ram, so basically the same setup as you but slightly better CPU, slightly worse GPU, and you have a bit more ram that doesn't really matter in gaming. I play in 4k btw, you can too with your rig in most games.

Spacer choice is the worst quality among all corporation in the game, such irony the devs chose this brand.
