Reed Tobson's Hat

I've searched thru quite a few postings on this, the Ow wiki says if you side with clearwater but still get reed to stand down , wiki says he didn't last 2 days outside the walls, before marauders killed him and one was seen wearing his hat, ....
well I use to come back after sometime and go scouring for any re spawned marauders everywhere, and never ever saw any wearing reeds bowler, so now I don't believe this to true,
Further postings have said they saw him in byzantium sitting on a bench, I also don't think this is true, ..
So basically those want reed's hat to show up on the ship , is to just plain kill him, after all is said and down Adelaide back in clearwater n deserters returned ...
If left alive, and he passes thru the gates , he will just de-spawn , ... o.o

I'm pretty sure the line about the marauder wearing his hat is directly taken from the ending where he leaves, so yeah you wouldn't see said event in the game. Only way to obtain his hat is killing him outright, same goes for the key to his little room.

Yes, I read on wiki, that , that was the case, like at the ending , its said, like you've mentioned , at the ending its mentioned reed did not survive 2 days outside the walls, before marauder's took his life, and one was seen wearing his hat ..
But yes plain outright killing him will only get you his hat which has some good extra's on it if worn .
Myself plus quite a few others have been n looked tho, just out of curiosity .
