My first companion died extremely fast. Since then I have been hoarding the rest of the companions. After I get them I teleport to my ship and have them hang out there.
This is "meh" is highly dependent on one's liking of the art direction I believe. This game has very much captivated me. I've done the same area maybe 10 times because I was silly enough to be a low-powered fool with far too many creatures around, and I have greatly enjoyed every seconds of it. Finally passing an area was the most rewarding thing ever.
No thanks.
I did Dead Space/ 2/ 3 at the highest difficulty from the get-go, Doom/ Doom Eternal and tons of other games too because I enjoyed the "authentic" experience. It's always been a blast. I have no qualms about trying to survive MYSELF, but having to micro-manage idiot companions while I'm taking fire? no me gusta - it takes one completely out of the immersion. Plus it's just-plain no fun! (looking at the guy with...800 hours? in Rimworld who loves permadeath/ ironman mode).
"Parvati! We're under fire, don't stand there, get behind cover!" *Parvati slammed in the face by two massive boulders. Now dead* *I shake my head with a smile on my face, wagging my finger at the corpse* "Oh Pavarati, haha you rascal." No.
My leadership thing is soft-capped at 50 and they still die from a couple of primal rocks to the face which arc over me as I dance around and hit them as they stupidly stand there. I'm glad the game has a "well that was dumb, re-distribute all skill points" box-thing.
More power to all of you, I thought it was poorly-designed. I'm also a combat vet though. "realistically" (derp) one should not have to tell anyone to take cover. head-canon-wise it'd make sense if the FIRST engagement with the enemy required me to tell, ONLY Pavarati, to take cover. She's inexperienced as hell. Everyone else though, (well, maybe Felix) nah.
I eliminated the game's terrible companion AI by implementing a workaround where I stopped playing on supernova because it's dumb and offers nothing but a "cheeve."
Gotta get on my level, bruh. Gotta beat all the Souls-Borne, Doom, Dead Space, etc on the hardest before you can step up to the big boys.
Thats hard to belive considering the bad IA and their suicidal attitude.
