Iv'e gone into my Nvidia settings for the game and bumped up everything. Is this game just supposed to look like this to give it some kind of retro visuals? cause it just looks terrible imo.
The HUD looks sharp and in focus so it just seems to be the rendering of the terrain and character that looks bad.
After looking at other people's screenshots of the game and the official ones my game is just looking so fuzzy and rubbish, I hope there is some way to fix this. Suggestions would be welcome.
I'm on 1920X1080 which is the normal resolution of my screen, and the one I use for all games which normally is crisp and detailed and looks great, Its just something to do with this game. Maybe the rendering is just incompatible with my graphics card but Iv'e never come accross anything like that before with *modern* games ( ie anything that has been made in the last 20 years).

That should give you a better idea for optimal settings.
Can you check if it's at 100%?

After some messing about with settings this seems to be the best I can get it. A vast improvement but still not as clear as other games. Not sure at this point if I want to keep it or refund.
That 3D setting makes a lot of difference, and its confusing cause the way it's described seems to indicate that turning it up would increase performance (and increased performance usually means decreased graphic quality).
~ Thanks for the input Aeternum.
If you search for "outer worlds nexus" there is a modding site that offers tweaks to make the game look sharper.
Oh I just checked and the settings tab already have an option to turn off chromatic aberration so try that, play the game for a bit without exceeding the 2 hour refund limit and if you are still unsure by all means go ahead and refund.
