Really bad, my game crashes every 20 minutes

And no results when you search for "Outer Worlds performance tweaks"???
No performance problems here, but have been PC gaming for a while so familiar with troubleshooting steps.

Or maybe you are running a potato?

For me it's the opposite, when I put RDR2 on max settings I cannot hold 75FPS (I've got a 75Hz monitor). Though it's to be expected since RDR2 requires more horsepower.

This game I run on max settings (res scale is 100%), and I get very stable 75FPS, a few hickups here and there but it doesn't happen much.

You've got too good a system to still be using HDD bro. They went out of fashion about 5 years ago, do yourself a favor and upgrade to an SSD, an M.2 one.

Well, M2 depends on the mobo, but likely not an issue. And small SSD for OS and at least another large one (or two) for games, that is, if serious about PC gaming. No hardware snob here, but yes HDD aren't up to the task anymore (other than backups) and SSDs are so cheap nowadays, but not all SSDs are the same so read several reviews.

The loading times in this game are so short.
And in almost every game it doesn´t matter if HDD or SSD.

Did you try running fullscreen, not windowed fullscreen? I get much better FPS in true fullscreen.

And do you own/use SSD's??? If not then you are deluding yourself, and if you use SSDs then you are deluding yourself that there is no difference. Major difference in terms of file speed and since games use big textures... There is no emprical argument against not using SSD to improve game performance.

Since it's impossible to change resolution in-game when you play in Ultrawide, I have to either play it at 3440x1440, or change the Windows desktop resolution every time I play the game, or play it on low to get more than 40 FPS...

Um no, HDD's are still used a lot. For example, in my nas + storage bay I have all WD RED HDD's (SSD would just die very fast in those enviroments), also I don't want to buy 40Tb of storage in SSD format.

I have an m.2 and 2 SSD's but I just don't have enough space right now. Once PS5 is here I'll take the 1Tb SSD that's currently in my PS4 pro and dump it in my pc.

Other then that I'm not really changing much anymore right now. I'm upgrading to new Ryzen CPU's when they are out.

But for the HDD the game loads really fast actually.

Migrated the game off my M.2 to my HDD, loading takes 4 - 8 more seconds now. Performance is the same, and I am saving space for things that need my M.2s speed.

The argument is over space, and cost of space; and the worth of using said space.

The real question is why am I even responding to a non-owner, with a private profile. This is obvious bait, or someone who has never actually tested the differences on an unconstrained system.

I never said there are no differences, I said it doesn´t matter, that´s a difference.

Been having the same issues for 3 days now -

Game start up it crashed in the Vale. I looked it up and apparently having unlimited frame rate was a known issue. So I dropped it down to 60 as well as dropped the graphics to Med/High.

Still suffering crashes. Pavarti's Wine quest was a major one as well as Max's quest.

Ran the main .exe as Administrator and it fixed some of the crashes - at least to where I could get out to some of the other planets.

Now I'm on another quest trying to get back to my ship in Groundbreaker and its now crashing at the same spot. Even weirder its C2D with no error/diag box or information. I'm honestly in love with the story and game in general but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if this does not feel like playing FONV again.

Has anyone else troubleshooted further to a working fix FOR STEAM??

Rig Specs:

Intel Core i7 3770k
Asus Sabertooth Z77
DD3 32GB (I forget which)
Nvidia GTX 1060 (6GB)
