So how bad is the Windows Store?
So, I'm waiting out the Epic Games Store exclusivity on principle, but since Outer Worlds is a first party property from Microsoft I could just pick it up on the Windows Store. Anyone have any experience using it? I haven't exactly heard good things about it, but is it serviceable? I'm not really concerned about extra features, I just need to know if it works as intended and if I can expect new patches to get pushed as they come out.

Outerworlds is not microsoft, the deal was signed pre microsoft buying obsidean, so the deal is between obsidean and the publisher, which i believe is a sub company of gearbox.

Not great. But it treats its customer better than the Epic Games Store.

I don't really care either way. I don't particularly want to punish the dev, I just don't want to reward Epic for predatory exclusivity contracts. I just need to know if Windows store is usable.

Well, its important to note that, as its an exclusivity deal....it won't be avaliable on the windows store for the year its under the deal. The windows store will get access to it at the same time valve does.

According to the Outer Worlds twitter, it will be available on Windows Store on launch.

Hopefully the PC Gamer article is accurate and it will be on the Microsoft Store. Only game i have on there is State of Decay 2. Never had any issues with it.

I'll buy it on the Microsoft Store. Its on my computer anyway. I'd rather have the game on Steam but if I can get it without waiting a year and without supporting Epic I'll do it.

MS games are like having a desktop shortcut.
But at least it's not worst than epic.

Thanks for the answers. Guess I'll go with Windows Store instead of waiting.

I wasn't really expecting achievements. That's a bonus.
