Notice also that there is a lot of detail on the back of the outfit. The Hope logo, the dangling hose, the stitching on the sleeves. Weird to put that much effort into something the player will never see. So, if that's you, it suggests that you get the option to see it at some point. Now fast forward to 1:12

Look at your hand. Yep, same suit as the dude in the armor at 0:55. Now, if you never changed outfits, then maybe that wouldn't be an issue. However, this is an RPG so of course you do and we see that you do later at 1:52 (https://youtu.be/DcYL2HavLVA?t=112) where you have no gloves on.
Now, maybe the armor is just a starting armor and the put all that detail in for a cutscene that they knew you would have it on in. But the other armors in the game seem equally detailed, including the work done on the arm of the armor that you're using at 1:52, but you can't even see that unless you slow it down to .25 speed. So, it looks like a lot of work if you never get a chance to admire how awesome you look.
Now, I could be wrong, but that's what the trailer suggests to me. One other thing. The more I watch the trailer it looks to me like this really is New vegas in space. And that suggests 1st or 3rd. Again, could be wrong, but I know which way I'd bet.
Just can't enjoy an action RPG without seeing my character not to mention the fact first person view makes me feel nauseous.
You can read the article for yourself and see what you make of it. Personally though, I find it odd if they made the effort to let you customize your character, and then not using it again.
I remember people complaining about Cyberpunk 2077 too for being only FP while having a customizable character, but honestly these kinds of games work much better in first person.
