Since on supernova we may lose stats because of certain debuffs you may have one of the +10% degradation, it's not really an issue tho since repairing is not that hard: just scrap melee weapons.
Weapon durability requires at least one of two things to make it worth including. Scarcity/cost associated with repairs, and long enough expeditions (dungeons) without easy access to repair to prompt a need for a backup weapon. This game has neither. It is a mechanic added to check off a box that they have it. Kind of like the equipment mod system with hardly any variety of mods.
