Prismatic Hammer just does a ton of damage when you have high science. Get the perks that enhance your TTD and you can just run into rooms with slo-mo and beat everything before they can act. There are a few other melee science weapons, but their DPS just isn't as good as the hammer. Prismatic Hammer is the best weapon in the game, imo.
Special Delivery is really neat. You get it in the Gorgon DLC. If you do the dlc as early as possible and rush it, you'll get to play with it a lot. Unfortunately for me, the Gorgon DLC was the second dlc I played and I didn't touch the dlc until I was already done with everything in the main quest. You charge it up to fire a barrage of homing rockets. You can fire the rockets away from enemies and it'll still lock on to them. It's super neat.
I think the Gloop Gun is really good, but I don't think it's good on the player. Give it to a companion. Enemies hit with the Gloop Gun are suspended in the air. It's excellent crowd control,
The other science weapons just kind of suck. Shrink Ray, Mind Control, and Spectrum Gatling are CLUNKY and don't work very well. The one science weapon I didn't really use was Employee Benefits, it just says it's made to heal allies, which I guess might be cool if you went a 150leadership build and let your companions do all the work. The Needler is a neat concept, it has infinite ammo, an endless clip, and different firing effects you can cycle through, but the damage on it sucks.
The most damage I was able to do was actually not with a science weapon at all. fully tinkered Plasma Rifle 3.0's charge shot dealt over 5000 damage when it crits.
