While I don't like some effects like Motion Blur (most of the time), Film Grain and Depth of Field. They all actually serve a purpose beyond just being somewhat ugly looking effects. All of them can cover up something that looks even worse.
Chromatic aberration though? That ♥♥♥♥ does nothing good for anyone. Using Chromatic aberration makes about as much sense as saying that 24 FPS creates a realistic feel because "Movie FPS".
