motion sickness
I don't know what it is about the game but it's making me slightly motion sick when normally this never happened to me before in other games. There is something off about perspective that just doesn't seem right to me or maybe it's the head bobbing. I tried upping the FOV from 75 to 90 and doesn't seem to be helping.

noticed the same thing, never happened to me before, not even in vr. first thing i noticed is the skybox moves with the head bobbing or something. its definitely off there.

It's the Chromatic Abberation. They enabled it in Screen Effects. They put it in a package of more effects. This a wrong choice, Chromatic Abberation should have it's own option to turn off. But there is a other way to do it: https://www.thenerdmag.com/how-to-disable-chromatic-aberration-in-the-outer-worlds/

Turn off head bobbing? Isn't that a choice? I haven't bought the game... yet...

I think disabling Chromatic Abberation may have helped some.

Head bobbing is one of the things which makes me very motion sick. If that cant be turned off thats a deal breaker too.

The headbob is strange in this game, the camera doesn't go up and down but stuff in the far background, such as the skybox does. You can't disable it and honestly who ever designed this kind of headbob, which never bothered me in any other game, should be shot.

I've yet to get controller to work in game, unable to test. If possible disable motion blur, make sure you are running at 60fps, disable lateral headbob, then as a last resort disable vertical headbob. If there's any settings to fix chromatic aberration that will help as well.

Here's a great video about KCD motion sickness from a modder and what he did to solve it as devs were unwilling ot address player concern about it.

For real though. What the ♥♥♥♥ is the point of Chromatic Aberration? It only serves to muddy and distort the visual.

While I don't like some effects like Motion Blur (most of the time), Film Grain and Depth of Field. They all actually serve a purpose beyond just being somewhat ugly looking effects. All of them can cover up something that looks even worse.

Chromatic aberration though? That ♥♥♥♥ does nothing good for anyone. Using Chromatic aberration makes about as much sense as saying that 24 FPS creates a realistic feel because "Movie FPS".

idk why it would be the chromatic aberration no other games with it gives me motion sickness like this games does ive tried all dif types of settings and this game just always gives me motion sickness VR doesn't even do that to me

This is an old thread, there have been some adjustments by devs, but if you are still getting nauseous... ¯\ (°_o)/¯

Did they ever fix the skybox issues where the clouds/ planets just move in sync w the player camera instead of the player position? Been hoping for a fix on that for ages and would like to be able to play this game finally.
