I purchased this game in haste which might have been a mistake. Does anyone know if the digital Gamestop pre purchase allows predownload or not? (should have bought from Microsoft, apparently). If it does not allow predownload and the game becomes available at laungh, will it become available to download tomorrow on pc at 6pm Central like the O.W. website suggests? or will gamestop allow the download to occur midnight of your time zone? yes, a question for gamestop, but was hoping our beloved Steam community would have the answer. thanks

1). i mentioned gamestop, not epic
2). the last sentence I recognize and state its a question for gamestop but was hoping that my favorite, and in my opinion the best, gaming community might have an answer.

If Epic 'supports' predownload for The Outer Worlds you will be able to do so. I know the Microsoft store supports it.

Yeah, everyplace selling keys is an Epic key.

Also, I am not seeing jack squat for pre-load with Epic's pre-order, so only MS store has the keys out.

Okay. before I made my post I thought Epic was some website, some retailer, but it sounds like i might have the wrong idea of what Epic is... When you guys say an epic key. Thus, could someone educate me please. I inferred from the last post that my gamestop digital purchase could be an epic key? is that right? Thanks

It's only legally allowed on ONE PC application for 1 year. Epic's application which is like an early alpha of Steam.

Yes it will be a Epic key. So you have to download the Epic launcher on your PC. Once done you activate that game via that Epic launcher. And Epic Store has limited functionality and features. So it may not support predownload for The Outer Worlds.

So, then what is the gamestop digital purchase? I was initially assuming it was different from microsofft store and Epic store. I saw the news release by OW saying micro and Epic would be doing predownloads, but didnt see gamestop. I am confused because on OW website it lists 3 websites to pre order the game. Are they just now coming out and saying only 2 of the 3 are only available for PreDownload? Thus, my confusion and inquiry, thus my post. Thank you for your time

You can only activate that game on the Epic Store.

Sounds like you ordered a physical version of the game? In this case, an Epic Games game code will be shipped to you in a hard case.
Download and install the Epic Games launcher from here:
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/download
Make an account
Log into the launcher and click on your account icon at bottom left, then click "Redeem Code"
You will be able to predownload
Enjoy your game when it releases!

I bought the digital game through gamestop. digital, not physical. Ah, so the game is played through the epic launcher so to speak, like Battle.net for blizzard and origin? So, hopefully gamestop sends out the code early tomorrow for the 6pm central time release.

You might have to check your Gamestop account and confirm when the game code becomes available to you. Yes the game is only playable through Epic Games launcher and not Steam.

Yes, i know not steam. This entire time I thought Epic was a retailer like gamestop, but its actually a platform/launcher for the game. .that makes sense. Now, i just wonder when gamestop will release the code for download, will it be tomorrow at the OW release times or midnight of the 25th.. I guess i have to contact gamestop.
