For the love of god, is there really no flashlight?
I own the Windows Store (game pass) of this game, when exploring abandoned caves and bases it gets really hard to see stuff, I've searched the internet and it looks like there's no flashlight in the game, did they really not think of this?

you should NEVER EVER have to do this, if you have to do it you are either playing the game wrong or the game itself is ♥♥♥♥, in this case, the game is garbage.

The caves on the first world are as long as a living room. You'll be out in like 5 seconds.

Lighting and color in a game depends a lot on your monitor's gamma, brightness and contrast. That area is lit, it shouldn't be so dark that you can't see anything at all. I can see just fine in that cave on my monitor after properly adjusting the Gamma as directed when you first start the game.

There are other places later in the game a bit darker than that cave also so it's not just about gamma settings. Honestly, having to rely on a fixed setting to see in dark places is not a solution, it's a gameplay gap that you are working around. It's only a detail and not game-breaking but still intriguing as to why this has been overlooked.

The knowledge of how to make flashlights was lost in the years while our hero slept!

I found a couple of miner's helmets that had lights attached. It was never an issue for me since I also adjusted the settings at the start of the game, so I don't know if they actually help or not?

This strikes me as a bit of an absurd complaint though. Many games I've played were deliberately dark (to add atmosphere or something?). I'd say it was a rather common problem with video gaming - the answer is always "adjust your settings".

Um, I haven't found a need for a flashlight which is kind of a miss. Seriously dark areas always almost always adds to a game.

Agreed(with both points actually).

Yep, it is 2020. This game should've had a flashlight.

I never had a need for a light in the game. If you did, you have adjusted your gamma wrong.

Most higher end monitors have ability to adjust the profile (not by pushing buttons but via driver) to ensure you have the monitor calibrated properly. Your monitor may not be calibrated well, they do NOT come from from the factory well calibrated...
So this game really ISN'T that dark. Very reminiscent of Fallout and Skyrim, the nights aren't really much darker, so to speak, than the days. I can see just fine. So, I mean it would be _cool_, buuut...maybe we really don't NEED a flashlight???

ADDENDUM: this is why I always play Fallout and Skyrim with the 'Darker Nights' mod. I find it very immersion-breaking to be able to see the guy sneaking up on me in the dead of night, at like 20 feet away.
