Parvati is socially inept and thus her action can be seen as creepy. She was worried about Junlei's ex because she fears her feeling will conflict with what Junlei wanted out of a relationship. And having known multiple people in a "desperate" period (not just love but money, employment, family issues) they could really twist events to support their optimism.
You dont have the option to actually adjust her social behaviour though. The game just render its judgement at the end based on her quest outcome.
But the quests were so absurd and tedious I also stop doing it. Like man, if you want sweet just buy some from the vending machine.
She even snaps at you for saying "maybe it's just your nerves" when you address her not liking physical stuff in relationships.
And then she just so happens to meet this girl she had a crush on before even meeting her and it turns out she's okay with being in a relationship with an asexual person? Totally unrealistic, would have made way more sense that Parvati eventually gets rejected because of that. Would have redeemed the quest a little bit
100% of "asexual" people I met have all eventually stopped being asexual a few years down the road, or were that way because they were molested as a kid and had negative memories linked with physical relationships creating a mental block and it was a much bigger mental health issue.
She doesn't straight up say it, at least that I've noticed, probably because in the colony nobody would even know what that is. But her emphasis on not enjoying any kind of physical interaction in relationships, and how it always drove people away is her pretty much describing being asexual, and seemed to me to imply the people who left her were basically bigots.
Maybe I'm just seeing things that aren't there, but I've been one of the few who doesn't think the game is trying to push an agenda or is some SJW wet dream, but this specific quest seems to have that underlying tone, that it was made by some Tumblr third wave feminist. And the writing itself seems to be much worse than the rest of the game, imo.
I normally play females because if I am going to sit in front of a computer for hours I want eye candy in front of me and playing a female is perfect for that. But my underlying structure is still male so I am interested in having a female relationship when it is offered in a game.
I tried having a male relationship in ESO once. I spent all day wanting to take my hubby out into the country and killing him. Then I could hook up with some hottie I met adventuring.
So when I play computer games I go from being a male businessman to a lesbian... Go figure that one out.
As for the tasks, I did far more in ELEX when chasing Nasty, but tbf that was a romance for the player-character, not an NPC.
Regarding the asexuality, I assumed that that's something Parvati would have disclosed to Junlei before the elaborate date setup - if she's asking someone to be her girlfriend, it would seem only fair that she admit she doesn't want a physical component to the relationship, as that's what the majority of people would expect.
Not a good idea seeing that she boosted up the lock picking stats.
Unnecessary considering all the locked doors and terminals require stupidly low hacking/lock picking levels, I never had to specialise once in this game and i still managed to access 90% of all the locked terminals/doors/crates, without Parvati.
